How were the questions your BEC exam Jason & BMW.cpa? Did you get more of chapter 5 questions. I'm taking it the end of the month.

update!! after registering again on june 28th (monday)…and still nothing i just called CPA Exam Services again and spoke to someone who was extremely helpful.

here is the deal and an FYI for everybody else: because my previous NTS didn't expire until October 2010 with BEC and FAR on it and i only sat for BEC but FAR was still outstanding….the MA website wasn't allowing me to re-register for BEC and FAR on a new NTS.

i guess i could only register for BEC. i was under the impression that you couldn't have two NTSs and that if you reapplied for a new one…it voided out the old one. well that is only the case if you already sat for the section on your previous NTS OR it expired.

needless to say i am glad i got this cleared up…so i can still use my FAR NTS that i had previously and now i can use my new BEC NTS as well. i learned something new today…

planning on resitting for BEC middle of July and then FAR 8/31.

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

I took BEC yesterday and I was SHOCKED to see that the CPA exam is a kitten compared to what Becker has us go through. I dont know why, but Becker made BEC look like a beast because every chapter is super long and the homework takes forever because the word problems were long. To my delight the real exam was gravy, so I guess Becker did their job, but talk about overkill in preparation. Hopefully I did not fall for any of the CPA exam question tricks!!!

Now the 6-7 week wait for my score starts because I took it so early…

    AUD 93 (1/12); DAUGHTER (BORN 1/27); FAR 79 (2/27); REG 85 (5/26); BEC 80 (7/1)

jamie and BMW cpa, it looks like everyone found BEC easy this time…Let's then not rejoyce too early because, there might be some tricky questions or the number of question to succeed to get 75 may be high…! I am not sure but AICPA could try to maintain the pass rate near the 50%…in this case, you might have worked well and fail!…Wait and see!

looks like everyone feels the same about BEC this time. this is the 2nd time i'm taking it and i zipped thru it. i dunno if that's a good or bad thing. i even had ONE hour left! that's crazy. i'm really worried that i rushed through it. i can only pray that i passed this time. we'll see in a month! good luck to everyone else 🙂

Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. AUD, REG, BEC, FAR - PASSED

Hi, everyone! Just took FAR today and I am palnning to sit for BEC b4 this window ends. I am using Yaeger homestudy. Is anyone using the same material, too, and passed on their first try?

    FAR: 7/3(87)
    BEC: 8/31(75)
    AUD: 11/15(81)
    REG: 8/31(83)
    I'M DONE!!!!!

CPABahamas – I honestly didn't notice any one chapter being more heavily weighed than any other. I also was just doing the questions, though, and not really thinking about what chapter they derived from. Good luck!

Just took Reg on the 1st and BEC today (the 6th). I agree that BEC seemed very easy. Almost too easy – and it scares me. Becker was very intense for it, as far as the depth and difficulty for the homework questions – especially for Cost accounting/Budgeting. I found that the test covered all the material that Becker covers, but in very simple and straightforward format. I felt like I could have studied only the night before (although that's what I did in a way) and pass. Hopefully, I didn't just botch up everything due to ignorance.

carskj – now you can just relax until scores come out for wave 1! i hope my BEC retake will be easy!! this is my third attempt at it. i ordered Yaeger homestudy. I got a 66 using Becker and then the second time i took it I supplemented with Yaeger CRAM…which boosted my score 5 points to a 71…but not enough to pass!! i am almost there…gotta keep plugging away.

i am still waiting on my NTS to actually schedule my exam and i wanna take it july 19 or 20…i just hope by the time i get it, times will still be available for it. my credit card has already been charged so i am hoping i will get it within the next few days.

how is everybody's studying coming along?

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

Was your BEC heavy on calculations? That is my concern – just the time it takes to calculate the solutions.

Bmw.cpa, I also thought BEC wasn't that bad and somehow I ended up with a 75. The questions seemed to have little tricks in them and you get a little over-confident with this one, and there's no memo to make up points with. Also becker does a very poor job with this one. There were tons of topics that I had never saw before on my exam at least. Becker was great on audit and good enough on far. We shall see how reg goes.

    Good luck everyone!

    FAR 81, BEC 75, AUDIT 92 ,Reg 88

Jason – That's what I was concerned about walking out of the testing center…that the calculations were too easy – I'm sure I fell for the most popular ‘wrong' answer on several of the problems. There wasn't too much on my exam that I didn't see in Becker, though. Guess I lucked out! Actually – we'll see how my score comes back before we start talking about luck…

Let's just say I thought the exam was considerably more reasonable than the two Becker practice exams. Here's hoping for a 75+!

I've also just started studying for REG

I took BEC on July 1st. After taking the 2 practice exams from Becker, I was about ready to give up. I too found that the actual exam was more reasonable than the practice, or I was more focused and it just seemed that way.

I can't believe it takes so long for the scores to come out. Everybody keeps saying the weeks will fly. Well they aren't in our shoes…4-6 weeks or more is going to seem like forever. It has only been 1 week, I am anxious!!

    BEC - 53, 67, retake 2/28/11
    AUD - 54, retake 05/28/11
    FAR - ?
    REG - ?

I just took BEC this afternoon, and WOW what a piece of cake. I thought that there were only a handful of tricky questions, but everything else was extremely straightforward. On to REG for my final exam!

    AUD - 97; FAR - 95; BEC - 7/8/10 ;REG - 8/4/10
