Go to the Becker website – get any updates both downloads and any printouts. Mark up the book where you need to for the new updates.

I found reading the text more helpful than just watching the lecture. I read the text carefully – look up terms that you are not sure about. Go over the MCQ a couple of times. I also used the Gleim testbank and thought it was helpful.n. Do the homework after eachsection.

Also, create SOD matrix for various IT positions – focus on what tasks can and can not be done for the key positions. I did this because a couple of the positions had more than one name – I found that confusing. The matrix helped me keep it correctly mapped in my brain.

    Good luck.

    CAcpahopeful2010:

There are not many questions about IT.

Do you use both books(Becker & Yaeger) for BEC? I only used Becker. A lot of questions are not in Becker material. How much for Yaeger book for BEC?

    Thanks,

I took AUD on 7/11, taking REG this week, 8/12 and BEC 8/25, 3 exams in a month and half, what are my chances, has anyone ever crammed them in this tight before? how did you do?

Mago, I'm in a similar boat. BEC is my last of 4 exams this window. REG 7/3, AUD 7/11 (studied before REG, but the scheduling dates once I got my NTS pushed REG ahead), knee surgery (more time to study!) 7/20, FAR 8/6 (wow, that one hurt), now BEC 8/19. I'm studying full time after a perfect convergence of school and my job ending. My husband has been a saint and I've been a homebody, but I think there's a temporary light at the end of this tunnel. I have no idea how I'll do. I felt ambivalent coming out of REG, pretty good coming out of AUD, nauseated coming out of FAR and now just relieved that there are only 90 MCQ between me and a nice study free vacation. Fingers crossed that this complete lack of life has paid off.

Good luck on REG this week!

Mago, I'm there as well. REG 7/7, AUD 7/31 and BEC 8/14….hopefully its works out because I wont really have time to study once law school rolls around…and with the exam changes coming in 2011, I hope I pass the right ones!

cpa journey and kawaii thanks for your responses.

IT is still about 20% exam right? about 2x as economics?

yeah i downloaded the becker updates and thats massive reading, dont know if i'll have time :/ prob read it on my drive to prometric.

and yes i heard about the exam not asking many becker questions, perhaps focus on my wiley book in that case for that section.

CAcpahopeful2010: I.T. is 23-28% of the BEC exam, and econ is 8-12%…so I.T. is about double to even triple the material in econ. I.T. is tied for the most amount of info covered on the exam with planning and measurement (yuck!). The best way to study I.T. is to read the internal control sections of audit. I can't remember where that is in Becker, but it should be easy for find in the Wiley audit book. I.T. is a HUGE part of this exam, and the info is very dry…and in my opinion useless. That makes it harder to remember.

    REG 79 (Becker); BEC 63 (Becker) 70 (Yaeger); AUD 66 (Becker; 11/30 - Becker); FAR 11/24 (Yaeger/Wiley)

Thanks for the good luck, all i have been doing the past month is studying all day, it better pay off because im getting really sick of studying, i passed fare in November then worked and now im trying to finish these exams up before the summer is over. I'm also thinking about law school CPAJD, did you already work for a couple of years to fulfill the requirements for becoming a CPA? im not sure what to do about that?

Ugh, I hate BEC! I was originally scheduled to take the exam 8/7 but I knew there was no way I would pass, so I rescheduled to 8/30. You'd think since this is my last section I'd have more motivation to study but I don't. Does anyone know how important it is to know how to calculate the cost of factoring AR for BEC? Becker has an example in the book and a homework problem on it and I am having major problems remembering how to calculate it.

    FAR - 86, REG - 93, AUD - 87, BEC - 86

That is a tough area. Took me a couple of time of working through the problems to be comfortable. Break the question down into steps. Also, notice the way the numbers flow throughout the problem. Sorry, can't recall how important it is to the actual test.,

hm890 – i honestly wouldn't bother memorizing how to calculate that. i think it would be RARE that you would be asked something that in depth and time consuming to calculate on the actual exam.

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

I am currently using Becker software for BEC. Exam day is this Saturday. Do you/anyone recommend completing the Supplemental questions or just focusing on the main questions? Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    BEC - 79 11/06/10
    AUD - 2011
    REG - 2011
    FIN - 2011

I used cpareviewforfree.com. They have lots of questions if you are feeling that Becker's is getting repetitive.

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

Taking the exam on 8/31 (took AUD today). Starting to study tomorrow morning. I had REG scheduled for 8/31 originally, but I postponed it and went for BEC instead.

What should I expect in the next 3 weeks of studying it? I use becker.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95
