Morning Everyone,

I rarely ever post on here even though I’m on it all day, but I figured I would share my BEC experience.

My exam was scheduled for 9, but since I arrived early I started it at 8:30, and went straight through with no breaks until 11:30. I did each testlet within 40 mins and left 1 hour for the WC.

1st Testlet: 8 calculations I had to flag about 10 questions. it was pretty rough…

2nd Testlet: 9 calculations, much harder than the first. I had to flag almost half of them, the questions were much longer than the first.

3rd. Testlet: 7 calculations, still hard but not as difficult, but I felt it was easier than the 2nd. I had to guess on a few of the questions, because I had no idea.

The Sims, were a breeze. I knew exactly what they were asking for, without having to fill in any BS. The exam timed out exactly as I was finishing re-reading my last paragraph of the 3rd WC. For all of them I had an intro, two body and one conclusion paragraphs. I hope this help my score a lot.

Overall, I have no clue how I did. I walked out feeling OK; but once I got home that feeling in my gut sunk in, that I messed up on way to many things… -_-

Everyone this window seems to be experiencing the same thing. Just praying we all passed!!!

Now the studying for Audit begins again on Monday for my test on 2/27…

Alh – What study material did you use for the exam? Did you use Becker? I am using Becker 2011 and am on Ch 3.

My exam is on Feb 24th. This could potentially be my last one since I am waiting on my FAR score and passed the other 2. Everyone keeps saying how difficult BEC has become and that Becker materials do not prepare you well.

Is this true? Also, where would you say we should be concentrating on in terms of material?

No, I would not say Becker does not prepare you well. Contrary.

But you need to know all formulas, understand the concepts in and out so you can fly thru the exam.

I have been using Wiley Online test bank along with Yaeger home study. I also have Jeff's Ninja notes. THEY ARE AMAZING! He really has it narrowed down to the important topics of BEC.The most important topics for me were IT, Corp Gov, Cost Acct, and Fin Mgmt. Be familiar with the IT section, COSO and ERM. I made a lot of my own flashcards along the way that had formulas and anything I was getting wrong during my MC sessions.

I did all the questions in the book twice, along with many Wiley online tests. I would break them down by sections 24 questions in each. I also did all the sections with 24 or 30 questions. In the Wiley book they had 13 WC, I re-read them over a couple of times along with figuring out the key words they were looking for, and had in the memo.

I re-wrote the Ninja notes any chance I could, along with reading as much of them during the day as possible. I learn better by seeing and doing something, so the flashcards were really helpful.

Hope this helps! Good luck. You have plenty of time to study, I would also look into Jeff's pass the exam in 20 days approach. I kinda of followed it and it seemed to have helped.!!

Thank you both, I appreciate it. I really dont know if I passed FAR or not, my gut is telling me that I didnt… The MCQ went really well, but the SIMS were brutal.

If I somehow get through BEC, and I can concentrate on studying for FAR the rest of Feb and all of March, and then take it in April.

most of time, if you feel the test is rough, you will pass it.
