Any recommendations for the best textbook(s) to learn the BEC part of the exam? I’ve got Wiley’s review books, but am looking for something more like a textbook – any old textbook I can buy on amazon.com. I’m changing careers – degree wasn’t in accounting – so am teaching myself as much as possible, need to learn this material before I can review it. Thank you.

The problem with getting a supplemental textbook for BEC is that it covers so much material. Lets see, You would need some good Cost Accoutning, Econ, MIS, and Finance textbooks! For the other parts of the exam you could get by with one textbook for supplement, but not for BEC.

I wouldn't suggest an additional text.

Try the NINJA notes, they are very helpful.

Then just Google individual concepts you find difficult to comprehend.

I have read in the forum that some people using Becker for BEC said that the actual exam was totally different from the Becker material (books & MCQ).

    Is this really true??

I used Becker for FAR and AUD, and it covered the material tested on the actual exam.

Any recommendations? Is Wiley or Jaeger better on BEC?

Cindy Simpson teaches BEC for Yaeger. And she is amazing. I failed my first time, but I had no idea what I was doing and now that I know how to pass, I can admit I didn't study like I should have. It's amazing I got that close.
