I am wondering if any one has good tips to help score maximum points on the written communication section of BEC. I am not the strongest writer so I want to make sure that I am hitting all the key points in these responses.

If you do a search you'll find a few threads on this forum with solid general outlines for the WC portion.

Intro, body, conclusion & buzz words is the general consensus I believe. When you start the WC, if anything, just start typing words dealing with the topic if you're having writer's block, always good to get something going “on paper”. Once you're warmed up you can clean it up, good luck.

Always include the words they use in your answer. If they ask you to “implement a Disaster Recovery Program” make sure you use the words “implement” and “disaster recovery program”. It seems obvious to do so in my example, but the writing prompts are much more detailed, so pick up key buzzwords and include them in your answer. I'm not sure how the WCs are graded, but if its through a computer, then this will boost your score.

I don't know if you are using Becker, but their sims have a few videos of instructors going over how to answer them to maximize points. SBNY2K17 is right that the intro – body – conclusion format is important. Also, spelling and grammar are key.
