BEC was brutal!

It seemed that everything I really knew wasn’t on the test, and the things that I had never seen were there.

Bleh. I doubt I passed. Each testlet was harder and harder it seemed. As I went through each one, the thought that I wasn’t going to pass got stronger and stronger. By the time I got to the WC, it was a relief! LOL

Oh well – onto FAR…if I fail, I’ll retake BEC in October.

I think when you get a testlet that was more difficult than the one before is considered a good thing. Hope you did great!

To be honest, after I took BEC, the only reason why I was pretty sure I passed was because it was very obvious that my testlets got harder. So, I'm sure you did well.

It's funny, because with REG I didn't feel that they got any harder, but then I like numbers. It seemed my whole second testlet was basis and I had that down pat!

With BEC, it was just a sick feeling all the way through it, until I got to the WC. I was really worried about those, but all 3 were on things that I knew, so it was easier to complete them.

Can't dwell on it now – FAR is more than double the material!

ReneeNC, your test experience sounds similar to mine, except my third testlet was easier than the second. Also, I didn't know any of the written communication topics. I think I did a decent job of b.s.-ing, but they were still b.s., so I might be in trouble if I missed some important key words. Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow. I know sometimes borderline BEC scores take extra time. I'm predicting a 67, my CPA dad predicts a 76. We'll see who is closest. Good luck with your score!

Givemesleep, I hope your prediction is right. As for for your question about how Wiley compares, it's hard to say. I think everyone's test experience is different. I've heard some people say that the Wiley questions were very comparable to their tests questions. I found the actual test questions to be harder than Wiley. I regularly averaged in the 80s (some 90s) on Wiley questions, and didn't find the Wiley questions overly difficult. My exam questions were a different story. I'm beginning to think a lot of it is luck of the draw. I also don't think that the percentages they give for what's on the test are very accurate either. I had an entire module that wasn't covered on my test, and another module that only had 1 or 2 questions. Good luck, I'll be rooting for you next week.

When your testlet is hard does that mean you earn more points on question u get right or is it just same points throughout the whole exam?

The harder questions get you more points, but there is no easy way to determine what is harder/easier. It varies for each person.

@Shay..no, my exam is Thursday of next week..I've been studying for 5.5 weeks, which I think is more than enough, but just the BEC material is really weird. I was going through the 2012 AICPA released questions in the morning just to find out I could not answer a handful of them…I need to tweet God next Thursday..:'(
