I’d appreciate any advice. I took the BEC section in June when I was trending around 85% in NINJA MCQ and I believe I was in the bubble because I did not receive my score till almost a week later and it was a 74. I retook the exam a few weeks later when I was averaging around 90% on NINJA MCQ and just got my exam results today and received a 73. I have not touched the material in 3 weeks and just took a couple of more quizes and got an 85 and a 90. I feel like a have a pretty good grasp on the material and I am very frustrated. I left this last exam feeling as if I had done well. There were no real surprises. I also took the practice exam and I reviewed all of the previously released questions from prior years. Obviously I am not doing something right. I don’t feel like it is a matter of having answers memorized because I understand the material. So dissapointed and humilited. I had passed AUD and REG a few years back and I have begun taking the exam again, obviously they expired. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you already hinted at this, but fresh study material would be a good start. BEC was my last exam and I'll say it was the easiest to study for but the most difficult to take.

Try a different test bank and see if that gives you a better perspective.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

Work less problems, write and memorize notecards

Please give us some more information regarding your study materials. How many questions did you attempt in ninja mcq? Did you hit the review stage? What was your average score? Did you work the written simulations? Did you study using another cpa course with ninja mcq as a supplement or did you only use ninja mcq? In addition, any information about your study habits would be helpful.

    AUD: 99
    FAR: 90
    REG: 96
    BEC: 90

this post made me feel nauseous

Ouch! Maybe spending more time BS'ing SIMS would help? I rushed through my MCQ, but allocated 1 hr 15 min to SIMS

I don't know if it worked or not…but, I found a way to use the word “mitigate” in every SIM, haha. Auditors and accountants LOVE that word lol.

Note: I used Becker for lectures & MCQ, then Ninja for final review 48 hrs.

    FAR 72, 89
    BEC 80
    REG 90
    AUD 79

    Mhayes22,

I made it through to the review stage and continued to keep doing the mcq and would score average 85% at least. I also worked all of the SIMS and even made note cards from them. I had many notecards that I would study from whenever I got a free moment, formulas memorized as well. I only used NINJA study material. I'm really torn. I was thinking of working CPA for free material and seeing if this helps but I really like the NINJA material. I don't know if it is so much the material or maybe I just need to work a little harder at it. I will say there were a few questions that I knew the material but was a little confused on what they were really asking, maybe I read into it too much.

I really appreciate the feedback that everyone is giving. I think I could have handled the failure better if I had felt less prepared going in.

Curious: How many questions did you do for that 90% Trending?
