    Hi Guys,

All I’ve ever heard was how BEC was one of the “easier” sections of the CPA exam, yet I’m finding it to be very difficult. I’m coming off a failure in FAR of a 68 but I walked into that exam confident knowing that I had a good chance at passing. My BEC exam is wednesday and I cannot grasp these concepts. It seems as if the Contribution Margin can be calculated 20 different ways and it just seems so many things are getting confused with one another. I’ve been making flashcards and doing questions but I feel I’m not really learning the material. Please send any advice. I’ve cleared my schedule for the weekend and cancelled plans with my gf so I can do all I can to make a final push into exam day.

Dont be afraid to rescedule the test, give yourself another week or two if necessary. Prometric test centers are very flexible. Much better to postpone the test until the end of the testing window if need be, than to take it, fail, and have to retake the NEXT test window.

I've been yet to go into an exam not putting forth the same effort if not more than the one prior simply because I've failed 4 of the 5 exams I've taken. These exams are no joke and anyone who takes them lightly is simply ignorant in my opinion. I'm just finding it so difficult to answer the computations. I'll feel as if I'm understanding the material and then the next day I'll try another 10-15MCQ on the topic and I'll get them all wrong again.

Like I said in the OP, I feel like every time I come across a computational question on one specific topic, the way of answering it is completely different. I guess BEC is just a Pain in the *** for me. Maybe more so than others. Here's to hoping I'll figure it all out prior to Wednesday morning….

I hate to be a negative nancy, but if you are getting most of the practice questions wrong, then that is a good indicator that you are going to fail. A failure on July 1st, the first day of a test window, means you won't be allowed to re-take BEC again until OCT 1st. You really may want to consider pushing the test back if you are not acing practice questions yet
