BEC – To read or not to read explanation?

This is going to be my first section. I’m studying for FAR and BEC at the same time, but will be BEC only from now on until my test. I rescheduled my FAR exam to January. I’ll be doing BEC first week of December. Only doing Ninja MCQ but also have the ten point combo.

I’m wondering if I could get away with just reading the question, then getting the right answer and understanding why that’s the right answer WITHOUT reading the explanation. How similar is the test from the MCQ? Has anyone risked this approach? The reason why I kinda don’t want to read the explanation is because they’re way too long sometimes. I’m pretty good in memorizing.

I did better in my business classes than my accounting classes. Cost accounting is pretty easy, just have to remember the formula for the variances. The way I see it, BEC is just a lot of concepts with little calculations (cost accounting part). Can I get away with not reading most of the explanations?

    Thanks!

Possibly WITH THE EXCEPTION of the COSO and IT questions- a lot of details are contained in the explanations for those two sections that I think are essential to knowing in order to pass… just my thoughts. Good luck!

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

I am studying for BEC right now (scheduled for 1/21). I think that if you got it right and you know why-then it's not necessary to read the explanation because I am assuming you know the material. If however, you got it wrong-the explanation is essential in understanding why you got it wrong..chances are you won't get exact same questions on the test and simply memorizing the answers won't work… I actually think that's a dangerous tactic…
