I am taking my very first CPA exam on May 30th (BEC)!
I am using Becker to study. I was doing about 2 modules a day and got through 3 chapters in 2 weeks. Now I am trying to finish the last 3 chapters by May 24th so I can spend 5 days doing review before the exam (so I am up to 3 modules a day). I usually listen to the lecture and highlight what the speaker says. When the lecture ends I do the couple problems at the end. Then I open my word document and type all the important things I highlighted and maybe type up some examples to go with formulas. Afterwards I listen to the skills practice lecture and do the practice problem(s) given. Before doing the multiple choice I usually write all formulas on note cards plus a couple key things I thought were very important (I have probably 5-6 note cards per module). I finish with the multiple choice, then move on to the next. Before the multiple choice I feel really confident because I do well on the skills practice and understand what I am typing up, but when I do the multiple choice I feel stupid. I usually get around a 60% (or maybe lower) and then go back through a second time (but by then I know the answers). I plan to do progress tests and the two mock tests in the 5 days leading up to my exam along with some flipping through my flash cards & word doc notes.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS OR ADVICE THAT WOULD BE GREAT 🙂
If there is something that I am doing that you do or do not recommend feel free to share, I am looking for any advice because, at my half way point, I am not feeling too confident in that 75 or higher.
