“CDE”… If Demand curves shift to the left, its Contractionary, hence, C to the left of D. If Demand curves shift to the right, its Expansionary, hence E to the right of D. CDE, chronological in the letters of the alphabets.

Just one of the ways, I try to figure out how to remember these things for this exam. What are some of your tricks or acronyms on remembering the topics for BEC? Would appreciate any input!! Thank you in advance!

I think acronyms and mnemonics have their place, but I feel people abuse them. I liked using AAASSS for variance analysis though haha

I got through BEC by simply spending an extreme amount of time understanding the theory behind it all. This takes time but once you can articulate how everything works then applying numerical data to it is easy. It ensures you can answer any question that comes at you. Some areas need mnemonics such as ERM and the COSO model, but again don't rely just on the mnemonic. Understand why businesses follow ERM and how it can effect their competitive advantage. I always ask myself; “what's the give a sh** factor?” Once I answered this I knew what the objective or point was behind anything in BEC, or any test for that matter. If you can't answer that question then things can be tough. It ensures you actually learn the material and not just memorize.

haha @ supervisor-I have no doubt whatsoever. Why do I hear Peter Olinto in my head using “I'm studying my bootay off” in one of his impromptu free-style rap sessions? haha

Just draw a supply and demand graph? I mean sure mnemonics can help, but this is basic econ, actually knowing it will probably help you on the exam.

I'm not saying that I don't know the concepts. Certain clues and mneumonics help me remember certain things.

Just got my second 74 on BEC and am finding it horrendously difficult to focus. Scheduled to retake it in a week but im worried the stress of 2 74's and having trouble focusing is going to leave me unprepared. Anyone have any advice or words of encouragement?
