    Hi guys,

I have a question regarding the time management for BEC. Supposively I do manage my time to finish testlet 1 within 45 minutes, but what happens if there are several questions that are a PARAGRAPH long and it will take me more than 2 minutes to complete? I feel so rushed when I only have 1 minute and 45 seconds. Do you suggest to take more time on the harder questions in testlet 1 or skip and move on? I know those questions are point worthy as well but I feel like it’s either I know it or I don’t… and then if I were to figure out the question and find out my answer is not shown on any of the given answers, then i am F****D.

    Thanks for your help guys!

At first if you don’t succeed, just try again.

What review course are you using?
I don't recall extremely wordy problems on the actual CPA exams, except the SIMs.
I feel like some review courses use really wordy questions, but don't recall that being an accurate representation.

Have you done the AICPA sample?

Bottom line advice, try and answer every question as you go. There is no point to leaving a question blank. You would need to be really really far behind before I even thought about just skipping a question.
If you are well prepared you will probably end up with time remaining at the end, although I suggest you always run out the clock.

I agree that it's only in sims that the MC is so long. 45 minutes is just a rough suggestion, it's not the end of the world if you push it to 50, 55 might be too much though… I recommend that if you are worried about time on a specific question, flag it an come back to it closer to the end of the testlet. I have notice that my mind gets reminded of the correct answer sometimes just by reading the other questions in the MC. Like having multipliable questions on government accounting during FAR, for example.

@recked @rainbow butterfly Thank you for the reply guys. I am using Gleim right now and along with Wiley and Roger. I hammered mcq from all 3. There was about 1-2 questions on testlet 1 that were a paragraph long. I was literally freaked out and thought to myself ” So I guess I wasn't prepared as I thought I would be” but after that , the questions seem to get much better. I have done the AICPA sample. For some reason, testlet 1 was harder than testlet 2 so maybe I got the medium testlet then… but my question is should I still try to solve it if it takes me more than 2 minutes to answer those long paragraph questions?

@recked – I am impressed with your score on FAR. Can I know how many hours total did you take for FAR? and how many minutes for each testlet? I am studying for FAR right now but I only have 6.5 weeks left… not sure if that's enough time to tackle FAR… :/

@recked Sorry didn't realize you have the hours and the weeks up. Hopefully 6.5 weeks is enough time for me, I'm fairly comfortable with some of the FAR topics as I use it in my every day work. Can I ask what was your trending scores on Gliem?
