I have the guts and glory to do what it takes, just tell me how. I am really studing each part microbe by microbe. It’s hard as hell. Give me some help here. Yes I am in that same train as you…. But, my issue here is that I am not studying… I know…. I know. But I just been down these last couple of days… I am retaking it on the 20th of April. I just don't know how to start with this… Or were to start. I “started” studying last week and I am still in the first chapter. It is just SOOOOOOOOOO boring. I would prefer taking FAR 15 times or AUD or even REG than BEC.

    I HATE BEC!!!

@Jokami – reschedule to May 31st. I originally set the date for 4/15 but decided to really stud hard, I have limited time during busy season so I am just taking it slow for now. After the deadline, will go full force. You can do this, almost half can, why not us. Lets do it.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78

I have scheduled to retake REG on May 25th… So I need at least a month to review REG, I don't think I'll have to much trouble with REG so I am OK there. I had BEC scheduled for the 13th but yesterday I reschedules because I have not “started”… I just have to get myself together and just do it. But I am finding it kind of difficult to get back on track.

    Anyways maybe it's the weather…

The thing is… I took live classes review and the same professor who gave FAR gave BEC… So it was an emotional comfort for me because SHE IS EXCELLENT. Her methods and way of explaining is the best I've seen out there. She will forever have the credit for my passing FAR grade. I am listening to the classes again and I feel like I know everything and everything makes sense and I understand it. So I have to reevaluate what is it that really got me with this test, besides the written communication. But there is something about BEC that just doesn't cope with me.

This is the first time I'm retaking BEC since I lost the credit. I'm pretty scared since the last time it took me like 7 trys before I passed BEC.

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

I'm not taking BEC but I'm killing myself to keep from having to retake it so for anyone who is “unmotivated” or “just can't get into the groove of studying” look at my signature and tell yourself “I NEVER WANT TO BE LIKE THAT CRAZY WOMAN!” I am the poster child for what not to do on the CPA exam! Use my stupidity and laziness or whatever it is that is keeping me from being a CPA to keep you going! Good Luck!

    Kricket…

I don't know what it is but I am finding BEC really heavy for me… I retook AUD and it was “fun” for me you might say and I also have to retake REG and I am looking forward for that one!

But BEC. What the hell is wrong with me with this test!?!?!?!?! I genuinely HATE it. I swear to you, I become a much more evil version of Hannibal Lector when I am studying for it.

@ Kricket – I don't even know what all my scores were. But I can probably estimate, well at least since 2008.

@jokami – my husband had a “special” term of endearment for me when I was studying for BEC. It started with a B and ended with an itch! I hated that test too. I said it stood for Bi*%& is Ever Changing instead of Business and Economic Concepts because you never saw the same thing twice!

    Ja ja ja ja…

Yes my poor poor husband has been SO understanding through this process; he really has been great. But there are those days that really get to you. I think that when I am back in the study zone I won't have any more trouble with it. It is just getting back there.

This is why you should never take a break from studying. At least for me it works. If I take a break it is mortal!!!!

It took me about a week and a half but I rewrote all the NINJA notes for BEC. Now it's MCQs time!!!

I'm giving myself 3 maybe 4 weeks for my retake… I got AUD end of May and I really want to give myself a good 6-7 weeks for it… so that's why my BEC retake is short (this is gonna probably bite me in the butt checks later).

Anywho, I never want to be like that crasy women up there so the first thing I'm doing is rewriting all calculations (not just formulas) but actual calculations.

and then I guess I'm going to do MCQs all day and night. I don't know if I should pick up Ninja notes with my limited time.

Add me in Retaking BEC 7th time. I don't know how you guys get time to study. I am not studying a little bit. I just moved my exam to 17 May and I also have to retake REG on May 30th.I have to start BEC and REG all over again as I passed REG Back in Aug 2010 and since then I didn't touch the books.

What helped me with my BEC retake was to write 3 cheat sheets of the basic formulas and concepts. This helped me tremendously because I have a photographic memory. I would carry copies in my car, hang them in the bathroom and in my office. I would make myself recite them while I was cooking or in stuck in traffic.

Make sure you know how to work them every which way. There were times I would see the same formula on the exam but they were asking it in different variations. They would beat it to death. Also, I'd spend days on something that took up half my cheat sheet and never even saw it on the exam. Entire modules!

The first time I took BEC, I got the little details mixed up. It's all in the details. Break the details out into little chunks of facts. Instead of thinking of BEC as a plate of spaghetti, think of it as a waffle with compartments of information where you can reach into your brain and pull out what you need.
