Okay so I want all suggestions on studying BEC….I’m at a loss on where to start… I’m thinking of just writing notes from the Becker book to start off with and mix in MCQs from Gleim.

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)
    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this last time I took it I basically read the wiley book cover to cover and worked all the mcq's in it. I also used the becker book for any areas that I needed a different explanation on. I wrote the ninja notes a few times, worked ton's of mcq's (from becker and wiley test bank) and while working those I read not only the right answer but also the wrong answers on all the questions so that I could get a better understanding of the information. I think reading all the wrong answers was the key thing that bumped me over the top because seeing repeatedly why something was wrong really pounded in the knowledge. I also used Yaeger's homestudy videos and Cindy had a way of explaining it to me that I understood. I had previously failed it with Becker but I'm not saying that Becker isn't good, I just needed a teacher who put examples on a board.

Yeah Cindy is my go to girl….she helped me understand cost accounting WAYYYYYYYY more than Becker ever did.

    Hey keeptrying,

I am in Austin and in my older post I wrote that I am in a same position as you. I tried BEC several times couldn't reach to 75.Since the score release day I haven't got in a mode of studying. But this time I will go thoroughly on Gliem's each questions and read the explanation carefully. After taking exam so many time I have realized that each time exam was different and gets very conceptual. I will read Becker each chapter and then do MC from Wiley and Gliem since I have remembered Becker's answer.

Right now I am also waiting for Aud too and couldn't concentrate for which one should I start, Should I continue study for Aud or start BEC.I know for sure that I have to do BEC before 2/26/12.

I think Cindy did an awesome job in explaining cost accounting.

So you are waiting for your AUD score as well? I will be starting my studying on Monday. I've been severely depressed since finding out on Wednesday my score so I gave myself the rest of the week and weekend before hitting the books again. I suggest getting on with BEC for now. Aishan I'm jealous you are in Austin…just saying it's my favorite city in Texas…I miss it.

Yes,I love Austin. I have visited north and west of US but as a living Austin is the best place. Thanks for suggestion that I should start BEC now because I was completely in dilemma for BEC or Aud and couldn't decide which one should be on my priority.I felt comfortable coming out of BEC but it shattered my all positivity about AUD too.

Until you know your AUD score just move on as if you have passed AUD.

I know the areas I need to nail down so I guess it's on to learning those areas like the back of my hand. I am going to approach this as if it's something I LOVE…I think mentally I've built a wall up to these concepts and I'm not absorbing the material just pushing myself through it and rushing. I've got to slow down and retain.

@ Keeptrying, maybe all you need is to change to another Prometric center?! I live in Houston too, but I took my BEC last week in Austin 'cause the date I wanted to take my exam was not available in Houston. I had a great time in Austin while I was there. I stayed at a hotel the night before the test. After I took the test, I went shopping in San Marcos!

@bnrhilton–I changed it because I am tired of the judgement that gets passed on me for taking the exam multiple times. SO for those that know me on here they know my story…for those that don't well then they don't…

@CPA-Convertible…I took FAR in San Antonio (best thing I ever did…stayed in a hotel the night before just me and the books). I took Reg at my regular Prometric center in Gunspoint, er I mean Greenspoint. I took AUD at the location off Harwin. Who knows where this BEC will be scheduled….

@keeptrying – sorry you felt you needed to change your signature, no one should pass judgement on how many times a person has taken the test…no one! All that matters in my opinion is you haven't given up, that says so much!

I do like your new signature as well though, I love the on my to do list. 🙂

@pacific- It really was in response to someone commenting on my comments on one of the blog posts last night. No one on this forum really…I guess I just become super sensitive to the fact that it's taken me so long and so many tries.

@keeptrying. San Antonio sounds a great idea. I am thinking going to either Dallas or San Antonio for my next test if I pass the one I took in Austin. The day before the test was quiet tense, but after the test I felt so liberated. I didn't care much how the test went at the end, I was just so happy I was over with so I can go shopping and enjoy the rest of the day. I think going to a different place for your test is a very good idea. It adds a little bit excitement to it.
