Hello everyone! I am finishing B6 (Becker) today and am hoping for some insight in regards to a good final review plan. My exam is on October 25, giving me 11 days to review. For the first three exams I took, I went through all of the Becker passmaster questions for a second time, and then completed several hundred (not all) questions in the Wiley Test Bank. My fear for BEC is that the Becker questions in B2 & B3 will be draining and time consuming and may take away from an efficient final review. I am thinking maybe I should just redo the Becker questions I got wrong the first time around, then attempt to complete the entire Wiley Test Bank. Or should I just suck it up and redo all of the Becker questions?! (Kind of freaking out here, sorry!)

So, for those who are reviewing now, what is your plan? For those who have succeeded with this exam, how did you handle your review week(s)? Any specific advice for my concerns above? Thank you in advance 🙂

I'll give you my study plan, don't know if it will help at all, but I like to type:

I'm reading all 20 chapters in Gleim, no notes, not MC

Then 1 chapter at a time, I'm reading/outlining in depth, really pounding that knowledge home. Then do all the MC at end of chapter for that one chapter. Do that 20 times.

Take the 2500 MC questions in Gleim Software. Do chapter by chapter, 1/3 of available questions for each chapter.

Then the last 13ish days, do 1500 MC, chapter by chapter, and really understand it.

Then not study for a month.

    FAR - 83
    AUD - 73 92
    BEC - 83
    REG - 88

My review will consist of rewriting my notes into a condensed version and doing small sets of MCQs per topic. It helped me for AUD and I'm trying it out this second time with BEC. I ran out of time my first time and wasn't properly reviewing those last days, so I would say you are ahead of the game giving yourself enough review time. Good luck! 🙂

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

For my review (2 weeks usually)… First, I go over Becker's Final Review, which is just short lectures and a few MCQ. Next, I scan the entire book again, making a list of only critical notes (for BEC, I made a list of all the calculations and important lists). Then, I re-worked all the MCQ I got wrong and all the optional MCQ I saved for the review. Next, I do a practice exam. Finally, just a bunch of random MCQ until I run out of time.

I would definitely just start with the MCQ you got wrong. If you try to do all the MCQ all over again, you will probably spend too much time on the first few chapters.

    FAR 7/3/13 - 82
    BEC 8/21/13 - 82
    AUD 10/2/13 - 92
    REG 12/3/13 - 88

    DONE!!!! CA Candidate

Very similar to me. I did all lectures and took notes. I did Corp Gov questions and 1/2 way done B4. My plan is to get done with B4, 5 and 6 by Friday so that I can focus on the tough ch's (2 +3) on the weekend. Then I would have 3 1/2 days to review. It is not ideal but it's better than my first go at BEC!

Thanks for all the great study tips guys! For now, I am going to make some condensed notes for the Cost Accounting and Financial Management chapters (my weak areas) and then re-do the questions I got wrong my first time around. If time permits, I will do the all of the Wiley Test Bank questions for these chapters as well and maybe even make it back to completing ALL of the Becker questions a second time. Good luck to everyone studying for this miserable exam!
