    @zomord
    I have becker as well.
    What I have done is listen to the lectures and I make small flash cards. If I take a bunch of notes (back in college) I would scramble through the pages and start to feel overwhelmed with the amount of info.

    I only did 1/2 of chapter one since I just started. So for like Corp Governance. I will just make very few cards. Like 1-5 for crime, 1-5 for “IS EAR AIM”. That way, when you get to chapter 6, you will have something to work with.

    And If i see a question come up that completely skipped me in the MCQ, I make a new card.

    I never take actual notes because I know I won't read them. I don't read the book either, but I guess lectures is basically reading the book.

    I can't say for BEC yet but did the other 3 sections w/o fail for now.

    Also “MUST” must do the progress tests. I always do 30 at a time @ 1 minute each only. To simulate the test experience.

    I'm pushing through my study time tonight with a migraine…what do you suggest when that happens? I'm afraid that if I decide to get up early and study then I will ruin feeling like studying tomorrow evening and the cycle would just continue…

    Hello everyone,

    I have been studying for the CPA exam for about a year and a half now. The mistake I have made is scheduling the exams (other sections) and being extremely confident that I have passed the exam, but not close enough. For BEC, here is my past test schedule:

    BEC: 61 (August 2015)
    BEC: 72 (January 2016)
    BEC: 48 (September 2016). I have no idea what happened here. I started to memorize the questions but not understand the actual concepts.

    I decided to give Ninja a try and have used Becker during this time. I guess I nee to put more effort. Any suggestions?

    @Teal Geiger- I would take the rest of the rest of the night off. Tomorrow's another day and it's better to start fresh than feel burnt out. You need to listen to your body and know when it's had enough.

    michelleq6130- How are you studying? Are you just doing mainly mcq's or are you reading the book? You really need to understand the concepts and doing mainly mcq's isn't going to cover everything. I made that mistake my first two attempts and have been reading the text more and feel it's helped.

    @RE2PECT Yes, that is correct. I have been mainly focusing on the mcqs. I will focus on reading the book. Is there a certain pattern that you use to study?

    For instance, lecture, read text, then mcqs?

    I don't watch lectures anymore. I just took BEC at the end of August so all the material is still fresh. Depending on how I feel I'll either do mcq's, read my notes and/or the text. I felt like I memorized a lot of the questions in Ninja and Roger so I started using an older Wiley book for some fresh ones.

    Up before 5am, I finally did it! Time to get cracking, i finally made it to B4, (IT, everyones favorite section!). I like how Becker puts all the math sections first, then ends with It, Econ, and Performance. I havent been using the book, but i dont feel like ive been missing anything. I do play Gleim powerpoints when im hands off, getting ready for work.

    @mtaylo24 Good morning! Glad to know someone else is up slogging away with me 🙂 — I was uber unproductive yesterday so must make up for it today.

    I'm like Re2pect- I am not watching lectures this go round- the material is very fresh in my mind from my mid-august sit and a lot of the questions I remember so I am using an old Wiley book as well as cap exam review for free questions to supplement my Ninja MCQ's- I am also re-writing notes this time especially for “fuzzy sections” for me like econ and IT…

    and they ask me why I drink...

    FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
    REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade

    IT is seriously going to do me in- it seems like as much as I study it I can not get it to process in my brain…. I thought the entire point of an EDI system was to cut out third-parties so that the transaction was between the two companies???

    “Electronic data interchange is basically a set of standardized electronic business documents that can be transmitted electronically between companies. EDI involves almost exclusively business-to-business transactions. It requires two or more trading partners, their banks, and often a third party to assist the communication between the partner's computer systems.”

    I know I said I don't watch lectures anymore, but since I have to stay home the next few days to look after my son I've been streaming Roger's lectures to my TV. The only ABC he's going to know is Activity Based Costing after today!

    Simple question about ROI formula.

    ROI=Net Income/Avg.Total Assets

    My question is if a MCQ only gives one number for the total assets, do we assume it is already averaged? Because some questions don't give an beg. and ending balance for balance sheet accounts, they just say for example “Total assets are 2,000,000”. Thanks for the help.
