What attempts are you referring to? The first and second out of the three writing questions in the exam? You don't turn anything in until you're finished with all three, correct?

I just read through the exam experience posts. Quite a few people mentioned the pretest for the WC. What is that?? Does one not count??

on Chpt. 3 and I feel lost…on all three chapters. It's my last exam and i feel like im running on fumes. there's so many calculations that i don't understand. I haven't posted anything because I feel like I need to at least try to understand the questions yet i've been too lazy to do it. Ugh! I don't want to do this anymore. —– i need to vent to someone lol

I am right there with you! I'm to the point of when I don't understand things, I just explain it to myself in a way I'll know how to figure it out. We will never need the majority of topics on this exam!! Can I help with anything?

Also, I am down to only 231 questions missed and I just cannot seem to get them right! I only had 460 wrong in the middle of last week!

I'm just getting started with studying for BEC. I just have a quick question – how useful is it to practice the WC? I know it will be good to do at least a couple to see how it works, but is it a good use of my time to do a lot of them? I'm using Gleim, and the 20 study units have 3 sets of 3 WC for each study unit (which is way more than I will ever get through). Writing is probably one of my strong suits, so would it be a better use of my time just to make sure I know the material well? In college I usually did pretty well on essay tests and short answer type questions, so I'm kind of feeling like spending valuable study time writing may not be the best method (especially since I'm self-grading it anyway). Any advice is greatly appreciated!

@Forem004 Thank you. I do have questions but I feel like its because i've been lazy to actually sit down and try to break down the questions. I will post questions after i actually try lol

@allie530 Tbh it's good practice, but i've noticed that regardless of what i write Becker will give me full credit on them as long as the format is good. Didn't do 3 out of 4 on ch. 2. I am going to attempt to do all of ch. 3 just because it proves to yourself that you actually know the topics and are able to explain them.

I'm down to 179 missed and I'm not getting it much better than that because I need to review notes before 12. I was just thinking about how I would feel after and wondered if anyone ever walks out, and thinks Damn, I did really good??? Have you ever heard anyone that felt fabulous about taking this exam?!?!?

Hi everyone, I am back at this exam after a 2 year break. When I attempted this exam in 2013 I took BEC and got a 64. I have decided to get back at it and starting back with BEC. Right now I have the exam scheduled for November 10th but I don't think I will be ready. I am still going through the videos and doing the questions in the book. My goal is to have those watched and ready to start doing questions by Saturday at the latest. I work 2 part time jobs and between my kids activities and my volunteer work I can really only devote 3 hours a day but I am working hard to clear up my schedule to get more time in. So my question to all is, should I move it back to the end of November or push through and hope for the best? At this point I will have to pay the $35 fee to push it back but I do get off several days for Thanksgiving

I'm very disappointed that I focused so much on ratios and formulas. I only had about 20 calculations on my exam.

Forem004 The points available for each question vary by question. The ratio and formula questions could have been worth more points. Just trying to help you think positive. Good Luck!

smyoung0521 Welcome back to the CPA journey! My personal suggestion would be to try and give yourself at least 6 weeks for studying. There are so many random topics in this exam, as well as a ton of formulas and ratios. You also mentioned having kids, so from experience, Thanksgiving studying may be limited.

@Forem004 mine was light on calculations as well… but I look at those as easy points! Fingers crossed for you!!!

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

Can someone explain the economic concept that when inflation is low, unemployment is high? I would think that with inflation, unemployment would rise because wage expenses are more costly.

“Can someone explain the economic concept that when inflation is low, unemployment is high? I would think that with inflation, unemployment would rise because wage expenses are more costly.”

It will rise, later, but at that exact moment the unemployment would be high. It's a cycle, and what you're talking about is the extreme furthest point in the cycle. As we get closer to full employment, the market gets more competitive and people get higher pay. But that inflation will eventually price people out. When unemployment gets too high, people are willing to take lesser paying jobs, which means less inflation. And around and around it goes.
