Okay getting really confused about which is riskier equity vs. issuing debt it seems like all of the answers contradict themselves… there was one on Ninja (I can't find right now or I would post) that said that Equity was more risky than debt due to the fluctuations in the market… then I came across these two questions today: Any help / insight / explanation… THANKS!

    1. The Snape Corporation plans to raise $1 million for operating purposes by either issuing a number of bonds to the public or by issuing shares of common stock. Which of the following is not an advantage of issuing the bonds?

Correct answer: There is less risk associated with the bonds.
Explanation: With bonds there is the risk of default and becoming over leveraged affecting the company's ability to borrow in the future thus debt is riskier to issue than equity

    2. The least expensive source of long-term capital to a firm is generally
    Correct Answer: Long-term debt
Explanation: Long term debt is generally cheapest for two reasons: 1) the interest rate on the debt is tax deductible and 2) debt is repaid first so it has less risk involved.

Am I the only one who does not feel like they understand or retain anything while reading the book? I feel like I really start making progress during MCQ but when I read the book, nothing.

LOL that makes two of us mtaylo24! ha ha ha I have spent the day jumping from Ninja to Rogers to cpareviewforfree to the “trial” 40 questions that Gleim give you….

I think the truly sad thing is I feel less prepared this go round then I did the last and even contemplated moving my exam today but then had to ask myself would an extra week or two really help me or just cause me to sit here and spin my wheels some more…

I TRULY TRULY TRULY HATE BEC
