I take the exam in two weeks. What is the best way to review if I only have and only plan to use Becker? Go through each lecture again?

AUD- 22, Just missed it...maybe next time!

jstay, me too. I feel like the more I study, the less I know. I'm going to do one more round of mcq tomorrow, go over all the formulas once more and maybe look at the IT stuff again.

thumbsup, I would do as many mcq as possible and reread the sections that you struggle with. I made flashcards for all of the formulas, which seemed to help.

The Internet is made up of a series of networks which include

Gateways to allow mainframe computers to connect to personal computers.

Bridges to direct messages through the optimum data path.

Repeaters to physically connect separate local area networks (LANs).

Routers to strengthen data signals between distant computers.

Correct, as that is what WTB says. However, I asked my husband who is job is in IT and knows this stuff very well. Said the question was dumb and thought the answer should be D. I wanted to see what someone else thought it would be.

How important do you guys think it is to get questions like these down?

Fabricating and finishing are the two production departments of a manufacturing company. Building operations and information services are service departments that provide support to the two production departments as well as to each other. The company employs departmental overhead rates in the two production departments to allocate the service department costs to the production departments. Square footage is used to allocate building operations, and computer time is used to allocate information services. The costs of the service departments and relevant operating data for the departments are as follows:

Building operations Information services Fabricating Finishing

    Costs:

    Labor and benefit costs

    $ 200,000

    $ 300,000

    Other traceable costs 350,000 900,000

    Total

    $550,000

    $1,200,000

    Operating data:

    Square feet occupied

    5,000

    10,000 16,000 24,000

    Computer time (in hours) 200 1,200 600

If the company employs the direct method to allocate the costs of the service departments, then the amount of building operations costs allocated to fabricating would be

    $140,000

    $160,000

    $176,000

    $220,000

I would agree to routers….but I know the answer is gateway…

The question ask about the Internet, which is commonly know as “this is what you need to go to http://www.another71.com“, then the closest answer to internet should be routers.

Gateway is a term that is more commonly know for computer network structure, it doesn't get you online…

But for test purpose, let's just stick to gateway…

    To CPAHOPEFUL11:

Well, if you roll yourself on the hard testlet, you might get it. I would say whatever you don't want to see on the test you will see them!

By the way, what's the answer? (Ahh..

Is it D? I never understand why the first allocation doesn't increase the cost of the operation department. Wasn't you suppose to allocate the information service department first, which add a cost on top of the operation department. Then you allocate the operation department secondly?

Maybe I remember my cost accounting wrong.

Never mind. I didn't read the question:

If the company employs the direct method to allocate the costs of the service departments, then the amount of building operations costs allocated to fabricating would be…

This has proof I am already too tired after 8 hours of working and 1 hours of studying. Heading to bed.

Hey guys! So I just took BEC yesterday. It wasn't as overwhelming as REG felt. I would suggest actually understanding the info, not just knowing the formula or definition. If tou understand the logic/theory/what it is you are actually calculating you can handle anything that is thrown at you. Ill let you all know how I did as soon as I know!!

    Good luck!!!!

omg i am getting so burnt out right now…doing B2 questions is taking freaking forever. I didn't realize how long it would take me when I was doing my study schedule. Its taking me like 2-3 times longer on BEC questions than even AUD and REG.

Now I'm really glad I pushed my test back to the 28th!!!

    FAR - 81
    REG - 74, 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88

    Finally.
