Hey jstay, Im doing okay actually. My ears still hurt a little but I'm ready to get going. I did the second half of B2 on Monday and Tuesday and scored an 85%. Rather excited to start NINJA. Fingers crossed. I plan on doing heavy review tomorrow through Saturday night and then take a becker (or NINJA) final exam.

How is studying going for you?

jstay – glad to see things are going well! you and lauren are scaring me with NINJA stuff, which I think is why it's even more important that I review some of the questions in there to get myself thinking of new questions I may not have seen before.

stoleway – thanks so much! glad to see you're checking in! hope all is well 🙂

Lauren – you are literally my twin and my partner in crime with this exam, WE will pass this exam. together we will conquer!!!!

Found out I passed BEC with a 89 even though I guessed on 30% of the questions and honestly thought Becker did not prepare me enough for the actual exam. I thought for sure that I failed my exam so if you are feeling if you failed, do not give up and theres always hope!

I don't get this question at all

A company that produces 10,000 units has fixed costs of $300,000, variable costs of $50 per unit, and a sales price of $85 per unit. After learning that its variable costs will increase by 20%, the company is considering an increase in production to 12,000 units. Which of the following statements is correct regarding the company’s next steps?

If production is increased to 12,000 units, profits will increase by $50,000.

If production is increased to 12,000 units, profits will increase by $100,000.

If production remains at 10,000 units, profits will decrease by $50,000.

If production remains at 10,000 units, profits will decrease by $100,000.

CPAhopeful – you must find the contribution margin and find breakeven point first, then calculate the profit for both scenarios. Does that help?

CPA, what i would first do is do the problem with the 10,000 and no change and compare that to the 10,000 and the 20% increase in VC. This would be my starting point with the problem (and luckily gets you to the answer).

If applying the 10,000 with the 20% increase in VC does not work (compared to the original costs @ 10,000) then move on to the 12,000 with the increase of VC compared to the original 10,000 units with no change.

Well, I got 50,000 as profit with 10,000 units, and then with the change got $0. So did I do something wrong there?

Did you calculate the 10,000 units with the change in variable costs?

    Yes, 12000*25=300,000 then minus 300,000=0
