@Leena I don't review prior chapters until the week before the exam. Your mileage may vary

Thanks Amanda! Congrats on the pass! You deserve it! 🙂

Lauren – Glad we are in this together (again, but not really, but you know what I mean, lol). When do you plan on starting again?

@Leena, I am taking the same path as I did for FAR. I studied B1 3 weeks ago and this week I began to review it again. I come into work about an hour early and look at notes and quiz myself on formulas. I took two weeks to cover B2 so next week I'll study B2 in the mornings and after work I'll start my B3 coverage.

@Leena_1101: From what I've seen of Rodger's review (short videos on YouTube), I think I'd really enjoy his lectures; but after paying what I paid for Becker…that will have to suffice 🙂

Also, even though I work full-time, I think studying more than 2 or 3 months for any one section actually hurts my chances of passing. This is b/c I simply forget what I've studied in earlier chapters after a lot of time passes. I studied for FAR for 5 months and barely passed the second time. I studied for Audit about 7 weeks and saw significant improvements…I think the key is making sure you study every. single. day (even if only for an hour some days).

    FAR: 73, 77 (July 14)
    AUD: 94 (August 14)
    BEC: 83 (October 14)

@NJPRU – I think I will be more on that lines, where i would use my lunch hr to work on MCQs from previous chapters .. thanks for the idea 🙂

@eyesontheprize45 I completely agree… 3 months would be max for me as well… not sure if i could fit in FAR, but for all the rest. even though i work full time i study an hr during lunch and Mon-Thurs 2 – 2.5 hrs in the evening and then both days on the weekend. This is what i am aiming for, but i guess i have to no matter what. i really want to get over as soon as possible with these exams and focus on my professional dev/goals after.

NJ – I have decided I would like to aim for taking the test the weekend of Oct 18 so I can be in the first score release and not waste all of Nov waiting. Hopefully that is a good strategy. I plan on starting to look at my notes today and this weekend and then purchase Ninja MCQ and hit them next week. I think I need a supplement from Becker and am sure I have some of those answers “memorized” by now and so I think adding another test bank will hopefully help me out.

I still have not received my diagnostic report from TX but am eager to see where I was strong/weak etc.

    Well Hello All.

I am here again, studying for the BEC the second time around. I need to really focus on Cost Accounting and all the variances. Then, I need to make sure I know the terms and the basic ratio calculations. I will not let this beat me.

For anyone who has already taken BEC once before, what was your assessment of the written section? I'm pretty comfortable with these types of things and wasn't planning on spending too much prep time for it; was wondering if I'm making a mistake by not giving it enough attention. Thanks!
