    ahhh i know the terms of costs of quality but i just didnt know that those were called costs of quality

    prevention and appraisal–

    internal and external- means failure

    prevention= (prevent production of defective units) training, redesign of product or processes, higher quality suppliers

    appraisal= (detects before) inspections, testing

    internal= (catch before ship to customer) rework, scrap, etc

    external= (already shipped to customer) customer complaints, lost customers

    There is one thing in COBIT – its called COBIT enablers and these are:

    Processes – an organized set of practices to achieve objectives

    Org. Structure –

    Culture, Ethics and behavior of individuals and org

    Principles, policies and frameworks

    information produced and used by the enterprise

    services, infrastructure and applications

    So internal monitoring devices are things such as board of directors, internal audit, internal controls, etc. External monitoring devices would be the SEC, external audit, creditors, IRS, etc..
