For the job costing question

Choice “d” is correct. Since manufacturing overhead is applied on the basis of direct-labor dollars, the total of the direct-labor dollars for August must first be determined:

$1,500 + $5,000 + $2,500 = $9,000

Manufacturing overhead is applied at the rate of 200%, so $18,000 was applied for the month of August (200% × $9,000 = $18,000). Actual manufacturing overhead for August was $20,000, so manufacturing overhead was underapplied by $2,000 [$20,000 − $18,000].

I get the vast majority of the calculations correct, but miss far too many of the conceptual question. I need to get this corrected, because I feel it will bite me on the exam. Does anyone else have this issue?

Anyone use Kaplan as supplemental material? I have the book and am trying to figure out which chapters in the Kaplan book pertain to each separate category in the Ninja MCQ's. Anyone know by chance? Kind of struggling with Category 3 – Financial Management and feel like I need to use the book more heavily than I did for AUD. Thanks!

GAH! I'm running out of motivation – this needs to be over..soon! haha.

I finished Becker last weekend..so now i am going through each chapter again and trying to get nitty gritty with it. I think I finally have most of chapters 1 and 2 down..for the most part. For some reason, chapter 3 is killing me though..I can get the computations right..but its the conceptual questions that really trip me up. gah. I am also rreally worried about the writing portion of this exam.
