Hey guys. Cost accounting is starting to come together for me after 3 days. I'm wondering if the WIP journal entries are something we need to know, with the Applied and Control accounts… Roger used them in a couple examples but did not explain how they flow and I don't really understand them. Should I go out of my way to learn the journal entries? Or will I be ok without them?

@kiran89 I know how you feel. I just got back 2 passing scores, which I am thrilled about, but it almost made me not want to study anymore knowing I am so close to being done. I plan on taking my test in Mid July. I am already reviewing all the material over again but I don't want to wait another 2 months for my score. At least I will no longer have to study, which is the real motivation to keep on going.

Same here. I'm less than 3 weeks from my exam and I was hoping 2 passes would be the shot in the arm I needed. And it was, for about a day. Honestly I think just knowing how bad the pass rates are is what is going to keep me going. I have to be on my game come exam day.

Exam in a few weeks. Ready to have a POWER WEEKEND over here. I would love to get through a ton of MCQs tonight and tomorrow morning. How is everyone doing?!

@Kiran, I'm in the same boat.

BEC is my last exam. Thought my motivation would kick in after the score release. Been off/on over the past 2 weeks, maybe 1 hour tops a day. The light at the end of the tunnel is there though. Just need to power through

How is everyone approaching cost accounting? Was never strong in that during college

For the written section, am I expected to create my own heading format or should I just start right away with my introduction paragraph?

How are you guys performing on the MC for Ch3 and Ch4 (cost accounting and operation management using becker). I have no energy whatsoever to do these, and I am scoring in 50% I just dont know what to do. Is the real exam going to include such hard multiple choice questions??

BEC 8/25 I'm hoping third time is a charm!

    81 (expired 10/2017)
    74 4/2018

Took FAR, REG, and BEC in Q2 2018 testing window. Passed 2 of 3. Missed being DONE by 1 point. Hah! AUD expires 10/31 so I'm hoping, wishing, and praying that I can pass this and be done!

I took BEC for the first time when there weren't SIMS. Ugh! I work for a manufacturing corporation so I can do cost in my sleep. I love the theory and memorization of BEC. I think the SIMS are a killer. I scored comparable on my MCQ's but lower on MCQ and oddly enough written communication. I thought I did really well on that part. So weird! I wish they'd release their grading analysis.

FAR: 65 (still drying my tears) 2nd attempt: 7/2016
BEC: 81 5/2016 (WOO FIRST PASS!)
    REG: 5/2016
    AUD: 8/2016

Taking BEC for the first time! and boy I was wrong to think it will be quick… using Becker and B2 is taking forever. surprisingly lots of info. I wonder how you all feel about BEC.

@msckle, ya it's all over the place. I took it in October 2017 and then in June 2018, so the material was practically new to me. I used Wiley for all of my exams, but as this is my 3rd go at BEC, I'm switching it up and using Ninja. I have found it to be a lot better than the Wiley BEC. I feel like it is all finally clicking. Test scheduled for 8/9!

I am spending 3 hours on average on 30-40 questions using Becker. I am referring to cost accounting and margin analysis/variance analysis. I really hate this. I am starting to worry. I have to pass BEC Otherwise FAR is going to expire in Feb 2019. I have two shots at it, but I am worried.. My exam in on Aug 6. I hope the exam is easier than the becker questions!!!
