How have people been supplementing IT, considering I keep hearing Becker under prepares you? What kinds of things is Becker lacking? Don't know what kind of IT stuff I should even be looking for!

Also another question (feel like I'm talking to myself here!) When reviewing I'm seeing two different perspectives of credit risk. One says that credit risk effects the borrower (the inability to obtain financing due to credit), whereas I'm seeing on ninja and elsewhere that credit risk effects the lender, and is the risk of default of the creditor (which what Becker would call default risk). Which is correct?

The format for the written communication portion seems to be…
    To: Mr. Billy Bob, President
    Xyz Company

    From: CPA Candidate

Do they expect to see the words cpa candidate or your real name?

Took the exam yesterday, the sims were hard. ALL four non-WC sims had 5-6 documents each. I only had two minutes left before my time ran out. The MC was tricky too that I had to think twice.

For those who just took the exam or are still studying, how did you prepare for the written portion? I'm using WILEY and NINJA to study.

    Thanks!

Hi Guys, I have mapped the Beckers modules to the weight-age per CPA exam blueprints, looking at this with 2 weeks left to the exam:
    B5+B1.4+B1.5 = 17-27%
    B1.1-1.3 – 17-27%
    B2 – 11-21%
    B6 – 15-25%
    B3+B4 = 15-25%

@Kay S I wouldn't worry about it too much. BEC mocks on Becker are insane. I made a 66 on the first one and a 74 on the second.

I was looking through the AICPA practice exam and needed help getting to the answer on one of the MCQ's.
    AICPA question:
A company predicted that it would manufacture 10,000 units of finished goods during March. The direct labor standards indicated that each unit of finished goods requires 2.4 direct labor hours at a standard wage of $20 per hour, totaling $48.00 per finished good unit. During March, the company actually made 9,000 units of finished goods. Production used 2.5 labor hours per finished unit, and the company actually paid $21 per hour, totaling $52.50 per unit of finished product. What amount is the company's direct labor rate variance for March?
    $18,000
    $22,500
    $25,000
    $40,500

My understanding is that DL rate variance is calculated as actual quantity x (SR-AR). When I used this formula, I don't get to the answer of $22,500. Any help would be great 🙂

    $1 cash variance* (9000*2.5)
Direct labor rate variance is Actual rate- Standard Rate * actual hours.

In this case actual hours we 9000*2.5=22,500
