sancasukiParticipantThank you. That chart helps. I'm just starting the fun chapter in BEC (CPAExcel) called “Planning and Measurement”, which is cost accounting, ratio analysis, variances, and some other crap. I finished Economics & Financial Management. I'm leaving IT and COSO for last.
Doing a rush job, in order to take the test before the end of Q3. Never did a rush job before (FAR, REG, AUD), so it's a bit stressful. And I'm afraid AUD has made me soft. I got so used to not doing any calculations, lol. It's hard going back to the calculator and trying to memorize formulas again.

RE2PECTParticipantTook BEC today and honestly have no clue how I did. A lot of the questions weren't covered in any review materials and topics I spent a lot of time on weren't even tested. Had at least 7 IT questions that had terminology I never seen. I feel like the second testlet was harder, but not sure about the third. It definitely felt harder than the first, but there were some easy ones mixed in. 2 of the WC were manageable, but the third was straight from FAR. Hopefully that was a pretest because I was strapped for time and barely answered it.
I have no idea what to think of this exam. This was my second attempt and I studied even harder as I did for the first one. Praying I don't have to take it again, but I won't be surprised if I do.

Just what I didn't want to hear! Was it more conceptual based questions? Did you use ninja at all?

Is capital budgeting synonymous with CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model)? Thanks guys.
August 29, 2016 at 11:52 pm #825178
RE2PECTParticipant@akphn5- It was more conceptual, but many of them seemed foreign to me. I used Ninja for both attempts, but also did most of the questions in Roger and a few from cpareviewforfree. I did around 3400 total between all of them and was averaging 73 and trending 93 in Ninja after about 2500 attempts.

RE2PECTParticipantI put together a list while going through Ninja for all the calculation questions. Many of them didn't match up when I went back to study them and Jeff said it was because they change when new ones are added. AshParticipant@Re2pect I am glad I am not the only one. I took BEC yesterday as well and I walked out of there feeling really blank…its the only way I can describe it. I did not know how to feel the only thing I felt decent with was the WC the MCQ though yikes I have no idea. I did not sense any change in the testlets which means to me i bombed it. But I will still stay positive and hopefully I will get my first passing score on this one. Good luck to you!

SmallwoodParticipantUgh, man this is what I can't stand about these tests. Study your butt off only to sit for it and be like WTF IS THIS!? I've never heard of this in my life before?? It seriously seems like it depends on which test/questions you get sometimes. I'm sitting for BEC on 9/8 and am in the process of re writing my notes now and doing MCQ as much as possible. I hope itll lead to a 75 but who the heck knows. I'm just trying to do my best and implement techniques that people say work, but sometimes it seems like that doesn't push me over the 75 mark. I've been stuck on 74 2x for both AUG & REG. Hope my first attempt on BEC is a passing one like my FAR exam…

iamonlooseParticipantAndrew Corporation is evaluating a capital investment that would result in a $30,000 higher contribution margin benefit and increased annual personnel costs of $20,000. The effects of income taxes on the net present value computation on these benefits and costs for the project are to:
a.Increase both benefits and costs.
b.Increase benefits but decrease costs.
c.Decrease benefits but increase costs.
d.Decrease both benefits and costs.Choice “d” is correct. The effects of income taxes on the net present value computations will decrease both benefits and costs for the project. Net present value computations focus of the present value of cash flows. Income taxes decrease both the benefit and the cost of cash flows.
Choices “c”, “b”, and “a” are incorrect, per the above explanation.I believed taxes increases benefit?

BenBParticipantWhen is data collection most critical in the implementation of an improvement initiative for a hospital attempting to improve emergency-room care patient satisfaction?
Incorrect
Before the initiative begins
B.
During the initiative
C.
After completion of the initiative
D.
All of the answer choices are correct.D is the answer which is really dumb because if the person who wrote this question spoke English they wouldn't have used the word most.
