Just done with my BEC exam an hour and a half ago. Got heavily tested on COSO. Encountered much fewer calculations than in practice. The experience was terrible. Not that it's really not that difficult but a lot of conceptual questions! It seemed to test mechanic memories. I aimed high but from my experience it will fall through. I might still pass but definitely not at a good score.

@lonestarBEC can go either way. Sometimes people feel like they did great and failed and vice versa. Good luck and we will see what happens. I am sitting on the 8th.

I am sitting tomorrow morning. Did my Becker practice tests yesterday and saw that there were way more conceptual questions (ei: COSO, COBIT/IT, etc…) rather than ratios and formula computations. I did not do the WC parts, but instead just listened to the 40 minute lecture on that section. I will update everyone on how my experience with the exam goes tomorrow morning.

    Cheers, Pony Boy

I am taking the exam tomorrow as well. Just going through notes and maybe a few MCQS later this evening to keep my mind fresh. I plan to listen to the Ninja Audio on my drive to the center tomorrow. I'm not sure any more than that will help at this point. Ill post exam experience tomorrow, good luck to everyone testing.

@ MaLoTu, thanks a lot, the way you broke it down made it easier for me to connect it to my notes.

Lonestar how long did it take you to finish? I have been completing ninja practice exams with 1-1.5 hrs left.

Good luck to all of you! I am taking this monster Thursday.

After 1800 questions in a week and redo of several hundred of the one's I have marked today – I am toasty!!!!

The hard part is not being lazy about actually doing them.

I make a lot of stupid, not conceptual, mistakes on calculation questions.

I hope all this time on MCQ's doesn't backfire on me.

I hate that you're mastery of one area in BEC doesn't help that much with the others.

@CPA2021… I totally get what you are saying about doing the questions. Some of them are so long you just mentally check out. None of the questions on the exam will be as long as a majority of the test material though.

Because I'm nuts. What a way to spend my vacation. I started in late January, but wasn't really as diligent as I should have been. It's the easiest section (so I heard) and I breezed through the Wiley bank pretty much. Then I decided To tackle the Gleim test bank and that was a rude awakening to say the least. I hate cost accounting, just got out my transcript and I hated it in college to.

Now a bit worried that all that time on formulas and calculations may not benefit me. That's what's tough, hard to know where to focus.

There's a lot of stuff out there on COSO. I just took audit and had a lot of the mnemonics down pat but it sound like it may be worth learning the 17 principals. Looks like IS. EAR AIM isn't going to be sufficient.

Hi MaLo. I made a strategic decision to not spend time doing the long calc questions anymore – I just get them wrong anyway. I'll have to be very careful on exam day about not shooting myself in the foot with keying errors on the damn calculator.

I wonder how bad the conceptual questions are. They can be pretty nasty at the advanced level.

@CPA2021 – a the test center ask for a calculator … I hate using the computer one. They will give you a hand held calculator.
