MaLoTuParticipant@jessica – I am taking 2 days to go through each chapter of Becker (lecture and MCQ), then I am going to focus on MCQ. My target date to sit is 4/5.
I scored comparable in IT and stronger in corporate governance, I decided to work the chapters backward based on this and based on my experience of the material tested. So, I went B6, B5, B4 and then B1, B2, B3 … I wanted to have th last 3 most present in my mind going into the test.

jessica8926ParticipantSee Malotu my problem is that I am in Illinois and the idiots do not send my performance report until a month later through the mail soooo I will have retaken it before I even get to see what I did bad on! So I think that is adding to my struggle of where to focus first. But I agree with your approach and am saving IT for last so that its the most recent in my memory.

ecg19ParticipantI'm joining you all! Taking BEC on 5/27.
I am already frazzled with B1. I'm using becker and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed about having to memorise how to get to COGM, COGS etc. I've watched all the lectures though, and I felt like this was going to be the worst part of it for me anyway.
Does anyone have any good tips on how to memorise these things? I find myself mixing up with beginning and ending figures are relevant.

bravesfanncParticipantI'm taking BEC on 4/30. I've watched my lectures and read my book. Now I am going through my MCQ. Something that helped me pass FAR and AUD is to write the solution to the questions that I missed or guessed at and got correct. It helped me learn the concept and why the other answers were not correct. After I finish all the MCQ I will go back and rewrite my notes and the solutions to MCQs that were missed.

Bear-BearParticipantI'm a little over 1/3 through the CPAExcel material. I was flying through it, but now it's becoming slightly more difficult. Not sure why, but I just want to hurry up and take this test. It wasn't like that with FAR…I dreaded test day. BEC is just annoying me for some reason. Oh well. I'm still pacing to have two weeks for solid Ninja MCQ before the test om 4/30.

hannahFletcher16ParticipantHELP!!
I am 14 days away from my BEC retake. Scored 65 in jan. I feel like I have lost everything! I have been studying continously since feb, but I felt way more prepared this last time. My scores are about the same but my brain feels like mush and I can barely read the problems without it blurring together.
I cannot fail again! If anyone has any advice to get me through these 2 weeks to hopefully pass, please share!
Thank you in advance!

MaLoTuParticipantEquivalent units question: I worked 2 problems in Becker that had the same facts, but one asked for the Weighted-average method and one asked for FIFO method. I understand how to compute the equivalent units under both methods, but my question is why does the inventory valuation in WA include the beginning costs and the FIFO method only includes the costs added?
I am using Becker and the questions I am referencing are 03606 and 03598 … Any guesses?

ILCPA2014Participant@hannahFletcher16 I am in the same boat. I took BEC last January, then took FAR in February. Do you use ninja mcqs? For me, ninja really help a lot.

jessica8926Participant@Pony Boy: I would highly recommend reading and knowing the one in B4. I didn't and got slammed on my test with so many IT focused questions. This time around I will be reading all appendices no matter. Even the B3 one is good to know as I got a few questions on basic ratios and other equations. Just to be safe I would read and try to know both.

jessica8926ParticipantGood luck! Focus on IT and COSO! Also read through the and watch the lecture on the written portion just so you are prepared otherwise no need to do the SIMS. Maybe just look at the answers Becker provides!
Let us know how the exam goes. I will be taking it 10 days after you 🙂
