@sunshine, it may come up as a part of coso and erm. I would say to have a understanding of what controls do what. The focus is more on implementation of controls.

Does anyone know any good sources for studying the IT portion? Also, should we focus on the Revenue Rulings? This was no where in Rogers (unless I missed it), however it was asked about in NINJA MCQ.

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

@KGREEN37 I'm using Wiley CPAExcel, and it covers the IT portion pretty well. If you want something that's lower cost, their Focus Notes are an abridged version. I find both resources clear and helpful, but no Revenue Rulings in either of these texts either!

Thanks, treekachu. IT is unlike anything I've ever seen before LOL. Where are they getting this stuff?! smh.
Yeah, seeing RR threw me for a loop.

I took BEC for the 2nd time on Tuesday. I probably got less than 10 calculations, and an extreme amount of COSO. My WC topics were also super basic. I did not think my testiest got harder as they were pretty much all conceptual.

What is everyones opinion on this? I am freaking out thinking I probably failed again because the low calculations and the almost repetitive COSO questions.

Finally finished all of CPAExcel (except the WC practice questions…not gonna do those). Tomorrow evening begins the Ninja MCQ marathon that will last until 4/29. Woohoo!

Hannah I felt the same way. Cost stuff was easy. I had one calc in testlet 2 that I had no idea how to figure it out. I had 1 cal that I had to use a formula to use in another formula to solve the problem.

Hey guys, do you know where can I find the update for the 2015 Becker review by chapter(it would tell you if some of the topic changed, concepts, etc.), I saw it somewhere but not sure if it was on the AICPA website or somewhere else. Thanks!

I'm wrapping up Ch 20 of 20 w/ Gleim today. Does anybody think I should just go ahead and schedule this for next week leaving a week for review or am I rushing it? I know Apr 20 is the cutoff for scores, and I really need to hop back on REG for my retake

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

Wow, could Ninja MCQ be any more brutal? I'm getting killed, here! Yet another instance of CPAExcel being waaaay easy by comparison. Saw the same thing for FAR.

I feel like I did a warm-up jog and now it's time for some brutal, full-speed sparring. Beat me up now, Ninja, so that I can go full-on Mike Tyson on exam day! 🙂

mtaylo24 leaving only a week for review makes me nervous, but maybe that's just me! BEC is my first section. I'm sure you could do it, but I'd consider taking a week off work (if you're working) and really focusing to give yourself the best chance. A lot of my friends have sequestered themselves away to study the week before their exams (and passed!).

I've also heard from them that scoring for the WCs is pretty lax in terms of content, so I haven't really been practicing them. From what I've heard, if you are slightly inaccurate here or there, it's not really an issue. However, grammar/spelling/writing skills do count. Do you guys agree with this? I hope so, because I just want to focus on memorizing all these crazy concepts instead of writing WCs…

@treekachu- BEC is my first one too. When are you scheduled to take it? And how are your studying? Lectures, book, MCQ?

Thanks @treeachu…how much time are you going to budget for your final review? I guess I am just too nervous about Reg. I flew through BEC relatively fast, but REG had so much material that I had to push it back twice and I still failed. I'm way too nervous about my retake. Maybe I should stop overlooking BEC though

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

@Summie nice! When are you taking? I want to do it in this test window, but also want to give myself as much time to study as possible, so end of May 🙂 I'm starting by combing through my Wiley Review and Focus Notes books, writing down lots of notes like Ninja has suggested, and making my own flashcards. It's becoming kind of a mess though, so I'm thinking digital flashcards will be needed soon, lol. If anyone knows a good app let me know!

@mtaylo24 I'm not sure exactly, but I do plan on taking the 3 days before the exam to do nothing but eat, drink, and breathe BEC! I totally understand your apprehension about REG though – i plan to tackle that next but am terrified. i think BEC is generally considered to be one of the easier sections, so I don't think you're wrong there. Just a lot of things to remember.

Just took REG on Monday, and already started studying for BEC scheduled on June 6th!!
I'm not really sure if I passed it, but what the hell, I must take the last section in this window as my FAR is expiring in July!!

I really hope BEC is not gonna be as bad as REG…
From Roger lectures, it seems to be a bit easier, but who knows!!

    FAR - 92
    AUD - 90
    REG - 86
    BEC - 6 Jun
