I don't know much about Becker, but I used Roger for 1.5 years and struggled to pass. Switched to NINJA and started passing…

@TEAL I have Roger and I don't really like it. I used Yaeger and Ninja MCQs to aid with my prep for BEC. I actually like Yaeger better although I would agree it is harder to listen to. Yaeger actually teaches you the material. I took BEC on Tuesday. It was hard but fair. Hoping for at least a 75 when the scores are released.

@CPA interesting! maybe I will try Yaeger out. Still waiting to hear on my REG score….

I found BEC to be the hardest one yet! haha

4 days until my exam and the panic starts! I am trending 90% on Ninja and my average Is 76. I have done all the questions at least 3 times. I did Becker questions 3 times as well.

    good luck @mooseonloose !

I am in a similar situation, 7 days until my exam; trending 85% on Ninja with an avg. of 82.

My problem is I feel like there is a lot of questions on Ninja where I am either guessing or know it immediately. For almost all questions that I do not know for sue I can get it down to 2 options and then I am stuck guessing (most of the time the two I narrowed down to are very similar). Does anyone have any suggestions how I should allocate my time in the remaining week? More MC, More notes review/understanding?

I also always find it hard to force myself to take my time on the MC, its not like im rushing through but for a 20 question Ninja MC set it takes me roughly 16 minutes. Any suggestions for slowing down really thinking through the options?

I know I haven't been too active this quarter but I will try to help everyone as best I can!

The Frame Supply Company has just acquired a large account and needs to increase its working capital by $100,000. The controller of the company has identified four alternative sources of funds:

Pay a factor to buy the company's receivables, which average $125,000 per month and have an average collection period of 30 days. The factor will advance up to 80% of the face value of receivables at 10% and charge a fee of 2% on all receivables purchased. The controller estimates that the firm would save $24,000 in collection expense over the year. Assume that the fee and interest are not deductible in advance.
Borrow $110,000 from a bank at 12% interest. A 9% compensating balance would be required.
Issue $110,000 of 6-month commercial paper to net $100,000. (New paper would be issued every six months.)
Borrow $125,000 from a bank on a discount basis at 20%. No compensating balance would be required.
Assume a 360-day year on all of your calculations.

The cost of Alternative 3 is:

    A.
    10.0%.

    B.
    11.1%.

    C.
    18.2%.

    Correct D.
    20.0%.

Okay, so I get the math its 20,000 divided by 100,000. I get the $20,000 because you are borrowing for a full year and are paying the interests twice, but if you are borrowing another $110,000 shouldn't it be $20,000 divided by $200,000 and the correct answer 10%?

    Help

    Hey Guys,

I'm off work for the month and hoping to knock out BEC at the end of February. I have 2014 becker materials (videos, book, MCQ) and was hoping to combine that with the ninja tools. Since there is the 2 get 1 deal I was think of doing the MCQ + Notes. Any advice on whether this is a good idea and which third ninja tool do you recommend?

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

@mperez102204 I am in the same boat, took AUD on 1/24 and sitting for BEC on 3/10. I have just been trudging through the BEC Wiley material, I'm a little over halfway. Hope to be done by 2/12 and have about a month to review with Wiley test bank and Ninja MCQ and notes. This was the process I used for AUD and felt good about my test, but obviously wont know til 2/23. Good luck!

    Hey all!

I'm interested in purchasing the Ninja audio to supplement my Becker materials for BEC. I've never used a ninja product before, just curious how the audio works. I don't see an app similar to Becker and noticed the demo was through dropbox. How will I listen to the audio through my iPhone? Since I'd like to use it primarily on my commute to/from work.

You can listen to the audio through iTunes.
