SaveBanditParticipantThe explanation has standard – actual for some reason. Should be actual – standard. Maybe that's what's throwing you off.
Actual price was $1.50 lower than plan, so that's why it's favorable.

Blue.auditorParticipantGuys… I have finished all of Becker HWs ! My average score is 79%
However, to be in the safe side, I got Ninja MCQs. I have done 200 MCQs ! My trending score is 58%
Ninja MCQs are much difficult than Becker ! maybe the problem is from me ! I am confused.
I postponed my exam from Feb 1st to Feb 15th because I don't feel comfortable.
Am I the only one who is facing this?

MissMorrisaParticipantI've heard way too many people say they felt unprepared while taking BEC after using Becker…I hope Becker supplemented with Ninja MCQ will get me over and done with this exam.

GHardestyParticipantBlue.auditor,
I feel the same way as you. I'm using RogerCPA Review, and in the practice q's at the end of each chapter I had passing scores on the first time. I started using the Ninja MCQ's and I'm in the 40% range. My test is in 2 days. I re-wrote all of my notes this week, took all the practice Q's in the Roger book, felt comfortable, and figured I'd plow through a few hundred q's through the Ninja MCQ's to add an additional buffer. However, now I'm worried.
Doesn't mean it's bad, but I'm a little worried now. It's like I don't even recall going over this material AT ALL in the Roger material. I know the Roger material is good because my very first test was with Roger and I felt that the material was covered…I just didn't have enough time to study, and the second time around I didn't study.

CrunchtimeParticipantI just took BEC yesterday for the third time, barely failed the first two times. This time I vowed for it to be different, I absolutely knew the Becker material inside and out, my test scores were in the 90% for Becker. I was so pumped up for the test that I blew through the first two testlets in under 40 minutes. The simulations were hard and I had a hard time figuring out what they wanted from me. I am worried now that I didn't take my time and made mistakes because I went so fast. UGH not happy, I might have let this slipped through my fingers.

Mr.SDParticipantStay encouraged, you put the time in to increase your chances of passing. You have to trust that don't stress the unknown you will get those results in early February!

Mr.SDParticipantThe problem states you are a purchaser(you are going to produce widgets so you need to buy materials), if you were the seller than an unfavorable price variance would be correct. (See below if needed)
It would probably be best to think of it this way:
You expect prices for materials to be at $20 dollars per unit. Your actual units sold were 11,200 and actual price was $18.5.
First calculate how much you actually paid: (11,200*$18.5)=$207,200. After you recall/analyze what you thought the price would be $20 for “X” amount of units. Think of yourself a everyday consumer focusing on price or savings you want to know how much it was originally.
So you calculate: (11,200*$20)=$224,000 so that means if the price stayed the same as you budgeted or expected you WOULD have payed more ($224,000-207,200)=$16,800.

GabriellaParticipantWould someone please explain the difference between encryption and signature?
I googled this but all it brings up are some really high level computer science explanations that I really don't understand.January 16, 2016 at 4:34 pm #749011
monikerncParticipantdoes this article help: https://www.productivity501.com/digital-signatures-encryption/4710/
for BEC what i have noticed is that when they refer to encryption it applies to everything on the system being discussed. all network transmissions, all emails, or all data in a database – everything has to be decrypted by the router/ recipient/user
for digital signature it applies to individual email messages that assures the privacy of the message and that the content hasn't been altered in transmissionFAR 7/25/15 76!
