FAR_WARSParticipantNew Questions: ( will post if necessary, they are long)
3-
less debt and more equity = more financial leverage, am I correct?
or does a lower WACC = more financial leverage4-
The current cost of debt = (7% Treasury bond rate + 1.5%) = 8.5%
What would the 1.5% most likely represent?@jonnybgood2321
I would buy Ninja only if/when you feel yourself starting to “memorize” the becker questions.FAR- 80

monikerncParticipantfarwars, which questions is your last post refererring to?
for the cyber cafe you have to prorate the result for each discount to get weighted interest rate for both.jonnyb… i used ninja book and mcq's and it has taken a long time for BEC to stick. i test saturday after almost 3 months of study. i have also done a lot off googling and watched roger, miles and allan mursau videos on youtube. the volume of info was too much for me to sail through quickly and retain. it has taken awhile for it to stick with me. and reading exam experiences i could be studying for any one of three or four different exams. i will know which one it is saturday. grateful it is almost done. a 75 will be welcomed news on march 9.

monikerncParticipantCORRECTION Farwars leverage is debt so a highly leveraged firm has a high debt to total assets ratio. An all equity firm can lower its WACC by taking on debt because of the tax break.
Not sure what the other question is about but it looks like 150 basis points above a risk free rate.

monikerncParticipantHome from work. Off tomorrow. Exam saturday. Go to a bar and stay until i go to exam or stay home and study? I went to school this lastgo round with a guy who went to a bar and drank 1 beer before every exam. Said it helped reduce his test anxiety and allowed him to just answer the questions. I think he may be an alcoholic. He thinks he is a genius. Nice guy and he did do well in school.

MaLoTuParticipantmoniker, if you don't pass then there is no hope for anyone =) My knowledge of this topic doesn't hold a flame to yours! FAR_WARS is up there too.
BEC is making me feel dumb! lol.
February 26, 2016 at 12:10 am #749788
monikerncParticipantMaLoTu – no way. i have been doing this for 3 months and all i can do is what ninja has asked me to do. what aicpa will want from me on saturday is a whole other kettle of fish – i feel prepared but their questions are crazy and 3 hours is not a lot of time. if i make it to the wc, i will be amazed. i just hope i get in my zone once that exam starts and remember to breathe. some of these questions that farwars is throwing are kind of freaking me out.
thanks for the kind thoughts – good karma goes a long way and i expect positive vibes while i am sitting at prometric saturday.
you are doing well, too. when do you test? or as the internationals say- when do you write your BEC paper? i love that phrase.FAR 7/25/15 76!

MoeshowParticipantAbout to take the exam tomorrow and I'm worried because many of you are posting multiple choice questions that I have never seen. I'm using rogers. Is there a reason for this? I've went over every SINGLE question. Older material or what?
Lastly,
This might be stupid question, but required spaces between EACH paragraph in the WC and between your LAST paragraph and sincerely. General format would say double space but I'm concerned it might be some other format for the written communication portion.BEC 2/26/2016 81

AnonymousInactiveAgus thanks!! Happy for you! I am so ready to be in your shoes but BEC is kicking my but.
Good luck to everyone, I hope.we all pass. I will be focusing on concepts these last days and on reviewing some articles that got posted on this thread. (Cloud COSO, ERM, COBIT 5 etc)

AnonymousInactivemonikernc I am feeling weird. I am kind of excited bc this may be my last days studying for this exam but at the same time I do not want to get my hopes up in case I fail. My son is coming in April and I want to enjoy him without worrying bc I have to study. Thankfully I am not feeling burnt out it is just the randomness of the material that makes me feel uncomfortable like never before not even with FAR. Thanks for asking anyways.
And btw you got this relax. You are very prepared just trust yourself.

MaLoTuParticipantmoniker – I am sitting Saturday, also! I was supposed to sit today, but luckily I was able to find a later date … I actually could have subsequently rescheduled for Monday, but weekends do not really work well for my studying (have 2 boys ages 8, 10) and so I couldn't justify the $35 additional dollars.
Good luck everyone! I think this is the first time in a while I have seen the BEC study group so active. It always seems that they only have 1/3 the activity of the other groups …
