Hey for the Written communications do we need to repeat the “To: / Subject: ” lines that are already provided for us? Also, what are people doing as far a signature at the end… put one or nah?

@SomewhereOvertheRainbow – how well do you score overall on the exam content? I'd say you need to be covering as much of everything all at once.

That means – in my mind – doing tons of multiple choice questions for each section to make sure you get a smattering of everything in your brain. Good luck…!

    BEC: 8/31/15 - 70, 73, 1/8/16 - 77

@Ballislife If I remember correctly, the subject line is already filled in, you just get a blank text box to write your memo. As far as the signature line goes, I couldn't tell you.

I took BEC yesterday and felt like reporting this to the community: my exam had a lot of material that was either A) not covered by Becker or B) was merely mentioned by Becker but definitely not anything I would have ever expected. I felt like exam did not address any of the main topics and I did not feel like Becker prepared me on this attempt.

I passed the other 3 on first attempts using Becker and creating my own study notes. My approach to this exam was no different. I came out of the exam feeling like I studied Spanish and then took a test on French. Very frustrateing to say the least.

“HelpIsHereVictoryIsNear” posted this same thing a few days ago.

I had multiple questions that addressed topics from FAR, and multiple questions that addressed stuff from REG.

I have no advice I'm mostly just venting. Perhaps just flip to the last few pages of every chapter where you have no highlighting or notes… pick the most minute detail on the page, and then memorize that little turd nugget.

    A: 87 (5/15)
    F: 86 (8/15)
    R: 90 (10/15)
    B: 92 (1/16)

    @Perkunas, thanks for sharing.
How about the MCQs that need calculations? Were they ok?

Also for WC, did you get unfamiliar topics?

Are any of you using the Ninja Book? How long did it take you to read? I feel like reading it and taking intense notes is taking a lot longer than I was expecting. If i want to take BEC the last week of February, when should i be done with the book and start on nonstop MCQs? Maybe @Jeff can help me out.

i am using ninja book and doing mcqs section by section. i read everything that comes with response. i have been taking notes from mcqs only. i am also writing down the calculation question numbers so i can sure to hit them again.

this section is taking forever to prepare. i just rescheduled exam from 1/18 to 2/27 because retaining it all will require multiple passes through the material. it is driving me a little nuts.

morpheusTheCoder, do you think that the questions from WTB were harder than Becker? I think they are harder than Roger and I just completed 500 questions in 4 days.

BEC tomorrow…eeek! Do not feel ready at all. Have taken REG and AUD but exam scores are being held hostage until Masters is completed at end of February. I am getting some comfort in the threads of miracles where folks passed this exam who also haven't fully prepared. I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow…..

    REG: 11/23/2015 score held hostage
AUD: 1/8/2016 score to be held hostage
BEC: 1/11/2016 death wish for having two back to back exams and score to be held hostage
FAR: 4/9/2016 after year end at work and saving the best for last, I mean, beast

Hey! Thanks for sharing your exam experience, there are a lot of people saying that Becker did not prepare them well for BEC. I have kind of a strange request…lol…I’m pretty much studying the same way you did for all the tests. I’m using Becker self study and on top of that, I make my own flash cards. I’ve passed FAR and AUD on the first attempt using this “study system” but I’m getting a little worried by how many people are saying Becker didn’t cover many of the topics on BEC this quarter. I’m taking BEC at the end of February and since we seem to have studied (and passed) using the same kind of approach, I was just wondering if you’d let me know on this forum (or through email) if you pass? I’m sure you probably did! 🙂 But it would give me an idea if I should do anything differently before my test. I’d really appreciate it! Let me know if you’d like my email address! My name is Keri by the way!

HIIII I think there is something wrong here in that

Superstrut is considering replacing an old press that cost $80,000 six years ago with a new one that would cost $225,000. Shipping and installation would cost an additional $20,000. The old press has a net book value of $15,000 and could be sold for $5,000. The increased production of the new press would increase inventories by $4,000, accounts receivable by $16,000, and accounts payable by $14,000. Superstrut's net investment for analyzing the acquisition of the new press, assuming a 40% marginal tax rate, would be:

    A.
    $242,000.

    Incorrect B.
    $250,000.

    C.
    $245,000.

    D.
    $236,000.

You answered B. The correct answer is A.

    225000+20000=245000 for new euipt
    minus the increase in working capital 4000 inv + a/r 16000 – a/p 14000 = 6000
plus the after tax gain 5000(1-.40) = 3000

    245000-6000+3000= 242000
