cpagalParticipantEvening yall.
I rescheduled REG from 1/8 to 1/19 I think on 1/4 or 1/5. It was super easy and cost 30 or 35 to reschedule. There is an option to reschedule on the website. You enter in some info from your NTS and pick a new date and pay. It was super easy. I needed the extra time and I am glad I did it. I should do it with BEC, but I am going to try and sit anyway and see how I do. I have a 100% new strategy studying for this section compared to the others. With the others, I did the study method recommended by Gleim, but for this, I am just reading each subsection, and doing 100% of the MCQ for each subsection at a time. On chapter 17 of 20. Hoping to knock out 17 and 18 tonight and 19 and 20 tomorrow to give me a full week for review. I have only skimmed the WC so I am nervous about that, as writing is not one of my strengths.

MaLoTuParticipantcpagal – I think you are going to be totally fine by 2/29. Do not stress out about the WC. I took BEC in August. I got stronger on the WC. In the intro you regurgitate the question and out line a couple points you want to talk about. You need 2-3 paragraphs that are between 2-5 sentences (literally 2 will get you by). Then the conclusion once again regurgitates the question. Throw in some buzz words that you can recall about the topic. Its that easy. I think a lot of the points are gained from formatting and lack of grammatical errors.

ZyxParticipantthanks guys, your explanations are what I was searching for, get it now.
cpagal, WC is what MaLoTu said, not difficult. English is not my first language but I got comparable on WC twice.Wish me luck for the third battle on BEC on Monday. I will beat this beast!

MoeshowParticipantWritten communication-
I'm getting information from various places and have a bit of information overload.
So, in the intro or thesis statement, whatever you want to call it, do we restate the question and is that it? Or do we restate the question and outline a couple of points we want to talk about in the intro? Which is it? Or how do you guys set it up?
This would be an intro I'd write..Good enough?Example of my intro: Pretty much restating the question. I feel then I'll follow up with sequenced paragraphs after this describing why Internal rate of return can be awesome lol.
Thank you for your question regarding how internal rate of return technique could be combined with weighted-average cost of capital to help SOMEC’s make important businesses decisions regarding the profitability’s of projects. Internal rate of return can definitely be used in conjunction with weighed cost of capital to make some very informed business decisions.

AnonymousInactivezyx11 english is my second language so that's comforting. Out of the four tests that I have studied for BEC has been the most awkward and uncomforting one. I hope that I do not have to deal with this again.

pickanickenParticipantThe written communication questions are nothing to worry about. Restate the question. Offer a few ideas. Start a second paragraph explaining your thoughts. Use lots of buzz words related to the topic. Conclusion paragraph summarizing the question and your response. And then finish with a general comment that you can be reached for further discussion. I formatted all of my WC the exact same way and passed BEC with no problem.

AnonymousInactiveGood byproduct vs joint cost accounting mcq
Kode Co. manufactures a major product that gives rise to a byproduct called May. May's only separable cost is a $1 selling cost when a unit is sold for $4. Kode accounts for May's sales by deducting the $3 net amount from the cost of goods sold of the major product. There are no inventories. If Kode were to change its method of accounting for May from a byproduct to a joint product, what would be the effect on Kode's overall gross margin?
A.
No effectB.
Gross margin increases by $1 for each unit of May soldC.
Gross margin increases by $3 for each unit of May soldD.
Gross margin increases by $4 for each unit of May soldFebruary 21, 2016 at 4:55 pm #749567

MaLoTuParticipantIn regards to the WC … I wrote this a few months back as an example for someone (this was just a random topic):
Your intro should be similar to:
(Intro)Thank you for contacting me regarding your plans to invest in a foreign company. There are many risks involved with an investment in foreign companies, but I am confident that with my guidance, many of the risks will be mitigated to the lowest level.
Paragraph 1 buzz word — if it is a foreign transaction always include foreign currency translation risks
Paragraph 2 buzz word
(conclusion) Although there are many risks involved with investing in a foreign company, careful consideration of the items above will greatly reduce the risk to you. I am happy to help you set up the proper accounts for this investment, as well as assist you in managing any issues that may develop.Sincerely,
