    LOL @”binder full” of MCQ's.

love your approach for the final review. i'll use it in 2 weeks. i'm still going at a turtle speed on these topics. becker has too many mc's and i feel i'll run out of time just tackling all 1187 mc's total for BEC!!!

i never liked taking the final exams for any sections since i cant see the answers. i want to be learning till the last moment. so i wanna see the answer everytime i attempt a MC.

Hi folks. Just came across this website. Seems like a great resource which could help me pass the CPA. I had my first attempt at any CPA section (BEC) at end of August and the system received my score 66 on 9/11/2012. I had only read the Wiley BEC book to prepare for the section and completely ignored actually practicing the MC questions. I've definitely realized my mistake. This time I'm also using ninja notes. Hoping for a 75+ this time! Good luck to you all too! I look forward to posting here and reading what everyone else has to say.

UUGHHH Yes this BEC stuff is NO fun and definitly not a breeze like for some ridiculous reason I had assumed it would be. lol I agree that alot of these equations are very drawn out in getting to the answer. Does anyone happen to have any simplified ways of remembering these formulas?? I finished through 2 and my brain is on overload so I skipped to 4. B4 in Becker is factual information so it is kind of giving me a break from all the calculations. It got to a point where I think my brain just stopped! lol Hows studying going for everyone else??

    Hi Everyone,

New to the forum and planning to sit my first exam (BEC) on Nov 29th. I initially planned to just use the Gleim book and test prep software but after scanning through the forums it seems most persons are using some type of lecture. I don't really plan to spend thousands on Becker myself so do you think its best to buy Yaeger or can I just study on my own with Gleim. Any thoughts appreciated.

Btw: Not working now so I plan to study at least 4 hours each day until the exam. Hopefully that is enough.

@BAFR2013 – I don't mean to sound rude, but if you're not working now you should be spending a lot more than 4 hours a day studying…I can sometimes get 3.5 hrs in of studying after work a full day of work and lord knows what else. You should really take advantage of all the study time you have, especially considering how difficult BEC is and the fact that you have only a month to study. Best of luck to you…

    @ I Want My Life Back 10.12

I am trying to get in more than 4 hrs. Just trying to juggle starting my job search, taking care of 2 kids and all the other things that happen each day. Of course the kids go to daycare but when they come home……worst when my husband comes home….I can forget about studying. Thanks for the best wishes though. What material are you using and would you recommend it?

@BAFR2013 I completely agree with I Want My Life Back 10.12. Their name says it all! I have NO life! lol I work full time, single mother of 3 boys and I put in at a minimum 5-6 hours a day. You can forget about weekends. lol I think you will find this exam is alot more challenging than anticipated. I know I did. I invested in the Becker program and it is AWESOME! The lectures are very helpful and you can never do enough MCQs. Good luck to you as your journey begins.

@BAFR2013 – I also invested in Becker and from what I've read I feel like that is the majority of what people use. Although there are a lot of people using Yaegar, CPA Excel, Ninja notes, etc… I've honestly never picked up anything but Becker. So I am biased and have minimal knowledge of other programs, sorry!

@mshewlett09 – VERY impressive!! Good for you for squeezing in 5 to 6 hrs in plus being a single mother of 3 boys and a FT job! You're making me feel lazy with just a FT job, fiance and dog! haha.

@I Want My Life Back 10.12- hahaha trust me it hasnt been a walk in the park. 5 hour energy shots get ALL the credit…I get off at 5pm…and after football practices are over I cook settle them down and study from about 9pm to 4am everyday…and STILL fail lol smh FML….Becker is extremly helpful and provides actual AICPA presented questions so alot of the questions you actually end up seeing on the exams word for word so do ALL questions….just in my experience, once I get exhausted of seeing the same questions over and over I might randomly try cpareviewforfree OR what I have also found helpful is youtube. When I am stuck on a particular area I will look it up on youtube. Sometimes hearing someone else explain it is just what it takes to make it click.

@mshewlett09 – 9pm to 4am?!? Even with 5 hr Energy, that's crazy!! How are you not beyond burnt out?! If it's one thing I've definitely learned over this 15 month journey I've been on with the CPA Exam, is that you need to balance studying and your sanity… Becker has several tips for “Managing Your Stress Before the Examination”, which includes:

    – Use those activities you usually employ to reduce stress:

Get as much rest as your can, exercise regularly, and eat a well balanced nutritional meals.

    – Do not work until you drop:

You'll impair your health and threaten your performance on the examination. Treat yourself to time away from concentrated study.

    Please don't burn yourself out!!

Thanks for the tips on cpareviewforfree.com and YouTube!

Yes you are right, I do crossfit and workout after work which relieves alot of stress. I also take one day off a week usually. These past 12 months of my journey have been pretty stressful though. I don't think there is a way to get around the madness. lol I study best late night though.
