Reporting back with a 98! — I'm inclined to think, based on my score, that some of the COSO/IT MCQs were pretest. I blindly guessed on at least 2-3 IT MCQ bc I didn't know any of the terms, and made educated guesses on many COSO questions after narrowing some down. I used becker and felt well prepared, however, I think my previous knowledge from my finance undergrad class gave me a boost. I had quite a lot of finance MCQs, which I think I would have done fine w just becker, but had a finance sim that was presented a little differently from how it was taught on becker. I was confident on it due to my finance class — not sure if it was pretest, but I would have probably missed half of it if I was just using becker.
For anyone studying BEC now, don't stress IT. Yes it's tested a lot, but it's so random that it's hard to prepare for it. Just learn what's in your material and make your best guesses on the exam. Your ROI (LOL) of time studying random IT terms is not high. Instead nail down COSO, variances, finance where you know you will get a lot of MCQs and it's more predictable. For COSO MCQs, read the question several times to really think it through.
