4 sims total (2 in each testlet), 3 WC.

Some of the COSO were very simple, others ….not so much. I was shocked too. Every question began with “According to COSO..” and most of them tended to be on the tricky/confusing side. Other than those, the other MCQ were pretty fair. I think some of those COSO/IT had to have been pretest…

I didn't have any time issues. 45 min per MCQ testlet (enough time to check flagged), about 15 min per sim (enough time to double check). Then, the rest to take my time on the WC. Good luck to anyone taking it in the next 2 days!

@BBHYX Thanks, hope you did well. How about WCs? Was it difficult?

Do you think that having all 3 written communications formatted the same will potentially have an adverse affect your score? I was just thinking about if your WC's get graded by a human, will they see that you formatted each memo the same way and knock points off? Maybe I am just thinking about it too much lol.

Can someone help me understand equivalent units of production? When given ending balance % complete for Direct Materials AND % complete for conversion cost, which %age do you use to calculate equivalent units of production?

    Thank you!

The WC topics were fair in my opinion. If it was a human grading my answer, I know I would get full points. However, I don't really know how the computer algorithm does it but I'm hopeful it's still ok haha.

    @BBHYX

Did you format your beginning and ending of your WC pretty much the same?

My gameplan was to just format my structure and intro / ending the same for all 3 memos/letters…

@w4kj4k they were not the same word for word, but were pretty similar haha. I don't think having the same would hurt. I would assume each memo is graded and considered independently.

Took BEC today for the 1st time.

My last experience I had was FAR and the simulations literally made me feel as if I was run over multiple times by a city bus and had to get up and walk afterwards. That being said, I tried to get through all of the mcq quickly to save enough time for the sims and WC. The multiple choice were ok. A lot of COSO and IT. Literally not one question on break even or supply/demand.

The sims were so-so. Most gave you a list of all the formula you may need. No more then 1-2 documents per sim. Two restless with two sims in each.

The 3 WC were fair. One of them I just didn't know at all but not because it was difficult I just should have studied that particular topic more. So I decided to throw some stuff in there that I did know even though it had nothing to do with whag the question was asking, trying to be hopeful.

Finished with 43 minutes which makes me think I should have and could have taken more time with the multiple choice.

Overall compared to FAR experience it was not as brutal.

    Hello BBHYX and bianca,

Could you please let me know which material did you study for BEC? I certainly got stressed out that IT is such a huge topic on the BEC exam. Our Becker instructor told us that IT it is NOT a hot topic on the BEC exam.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Good luck to all of you!

    Good luck to everyone!

I used Becker strictly when I studied for Far and once I found out I didn't pass I bought ninja mcq and notes about 3 weeks before my exam. Definitely felt more prepared using ninja. I will be purchasing the Far section of ninja for my retake in October.

    Thanks again, bianca.

Hope you don't need to retake it. Be positive!

I picked up Becker because of the instructor. One of the best. However, she is not teaching BEC! Cost accounting & financial management are not on my I preference list, and for sure I am allergic to IT. I love audit and financial accounting. BEC is certainly a challenging exam in my case.

Just finished bec exam. Tons of coso/it. Alot I havent seen before. Glanced back over my notes afterwards and 70% of it wasnt tested. Needless to say, I guessed on alot of mcq's. Sims were easy, think I did solid on wc.

Just hoping my sims/wc will pick up the slack from my mc.

Dont rush through the mcq, should have plenty of time for sims and wc.
