Kim… good luck today on your exam!

RB… Thank you again for helping us, checking my answer. It is really nice of you!

Wolf… Personally, I like to build as much confidence as possible before my exam. I like to be positive! This means I review my notes, questions/simulations, and look at the book (just flip the pages at tell myself… oh, yeah, I know this). I don't study things I didn't master/finish. However, you know yourself the best.

Well, finally I feel stress because of my exam (10 more days!!)

@rencpa yep, the stress is definitely setting in. It's hard to concentrate at work because all I want to do is study and help nail the concepts I need to work on.

Starved – if you were 5 days out I'd say take it, but given it's tomorrow now I would continue on course reviewing weak areas. If possible I try to read all of my notes 100% twice before the exam. Even if you don't memorize 100% you'll have seen it and sometimes that voice in the back of your head will tell you you know the answer to a question when you're facing it on the exam.

So, if you have notes I would say try to read them once tonight if you can, then continue focus on those weak areas again.

Good luck tomorrow! Just breathe a bit, map out your time, and make sure you leave sufficient time for the written at the end, 45 minutes minimum.

Starved good luck today you can do it!!

How much time are you all giving yourselves to study each section prior to taking the exams?

Tomorrow cant come soon enough. I either know this or I don’t and if I don’t I’ll keep pushing until I do! December 22 I will get three scores that will determine the next CPA exam journey quarter yikes!!!

    Hi Guys,

Actually, I did pulled out the AICPA outline for the BEC exam. It looks like COSO, Economics, and IT are the most tested topics (can get up to 27%). This explains why some of us are getting a lot of IT questions.

    Content Area Allocation Weight
    I. Corporate Governance 17–27%
II. Economic Concepts and Analysis 17–27%
    III. Financial Management 11–21%
    IV. Information Technology 15–25%
    V. Operations Management 15–25%
    https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/ExaminationContent/DownloadableDocuments/cpa-exam-blueprints-effective-20170401.pdf

I quickly looked at the outline and I noticed that Becker does not cover the materials it should be covered, especially for the IT part. I don;t think they are NOT aware of this!! Not sure about other CPA courses.

With that said, my concern is…. Should we expect simulations on Economics and IT? I am NOT asking for telling me what one had on his or her exam! Please don't take my question this way. I asked because according to my instructor, simulations are not tested on these two topics. According to my research today, I expect they are. Actually, Becker has some cray simulations for Economics and IT.

    Any thoughts?

This drives me crazy. Financial accounting may be only 11%!! And Becker is killing me with chapter 2 – finances. There is sooooooo much to understand & remember from this chapter. But you may get lucky/unlucky by getting only 11% of it. This is the beauty of these exams!

    Okay, too much ren! 🙂

from my analysis of the blueprint, specifically in regards to what can be tested as a sim, I do not see IT being a topic. However, chapter 5 (the Econ chapter) in Becker that includes market influences is a possible sim topic.

Rogers does not have simulations for IT either my assumption is there will not be any. Guess I'll find out tomorrow and let you all know LOL

Ana, I like you, but I hope your intuition is wrong lol I am fine with Economics, but I do not feel like I would like to be asked this junk from Market Influence on my simulations! For me, this material is nonsense. Maybe because I studied civil engineering before I came to this country. Math is my strong part, all this “scrap” is just annoying me. I finished the Becker material from economics, but my biggest dream is to NOT be tested on it. It is just a dream…

    Rosy… Good luck, a future CPA! 🙂

Anyway, still so much to study!

I wouldn't expect it but I wouldn't write it off either. Just based on the 4 tests I've taken from all 4 sections, I have at times been surprised by whats popped up as a sim. That said, we only have 4 sims in BEC, it is not likely, but not ruled out either. But really most of the sims I've seen have not been as hard as what we cover in the practice sims. I think the Becker chapter sims as well as their skills practice do a pretty good job of covering the broad potential topics.

I've only seen one on one certain exam that struck me out of left field it would be that deep on that specific topic. And between my confidence level on that sim and my actual score I will say i'm pretty sure it was one of the pre-test ones.

I don't think that revealed anything sensitive 🙂

And everyone facing your tests in the next few days, good luck! You may not assume so from my scores but I panicked and stressed (and got snippy with my friends) before each exam just as much as each of you. Review all you can and walk in with your A game. You'll all do great
