@Coachemup, Interesting to see you on this BEC board. We took FAR at about the same time, and our test days have been pretty much the same although you took AUD when I took REG and vice versa. Now both finishing it out with BEC. I am taking BEC on 18th and you a couple days later. Looks like you passed your first two, good job! Good luck on the last one, hope we both finish the last two! Agreed on the Wiley TBS. Looks like they just added about 200 questions to the MCQ test bank, even though some of the right answers get marked wrong!

@cpapex Yes! Funny indeed. Did you feel like AUD went well? REG was probably my most scared I was headed into the exam but I felt like the SIMs I got were reasonable so that's the reason I felt like I passed. Only time will tell. Awesome scores for you on your first two!

I purposefully left BEC for last as I know fatigue would set in and it definitely has. Start my review today though so hoping to get a jolt of energy in my last two weeks. If I find out I pass these both on 12/21 I may just have to break open an Apex Predator!

@coachemup, Haha! Yes, me too on the Apex Predator if I find the mission is complete in December… I felt like AUD was the hardest for me that I feel the most uncertain about. Feel like I did really well on the SIMS, but those MCQ were really difficult. With REG I was certain that I missed half of three SIMS and still passed with a good score, so there is definitely some wiggle room with the exams.

I left BEC for last for the same reason. So glad it is shorter than the rest. Feeling fatigued as well. What, we have been studying full time for over four months now. Good luck on the review. I think I am going to focus on IT and cost accounting for my review.

@apex yea that sounds like the right thing to do for review. That's funny about your feelings for AUD, mine are the exact opposite. I absolutely dominated the MCQ's but the SIMS were a struggle for me. I knew I passed but probably didn't think it would be an 89. Out of the 50% on MCQ's I honestly feel like I got 47% or higher so obviously the SIMs weren't my strong suit but I'll take it.

REG I felt like the SIMs were good and MCQ were difficult (particularly the BLaw stuff).

For BEC i think this whole test is pretty random. I have a good broad background in business and most of the topics I just needed a refresher. But Cost accounting and IT/Coso are weak spots I need to bone up on in these last 2 weeks. Good luck!

@cpApexPredator – Not to completely hijack the BEC review post, but I'm glad to hear that about REG. I took it last week and didn't leave feeling very confident, but the more I think about it, the more I think I have at least a fighting chance.

I'm really struggling to get into BEC. I hate economics and I feel like everything is Greek. I know I studied last year, but I have no idea how. I'm just going to dig in and hope for the best, and go about it the same way I did for AUD & FAR this summer with success. The general consensus seems to be that if it worked for FAR, it will work for BEC.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

@Jennifer Yes, all 3 of us are right at the finish line. We can do this! Just grind away and you'll never have to do it again (hopefully!).

FYI to all the Wiley people in here: Go update your course. It looks like they added about 30 questions to the lesson assessments. Not a lot, but something extra to review.

@jennifer, About REG, it is good to remember that passing is not getting 75 percent of the questions right, but getting in the 75th percentile based on their secret weighting. That is what gives me hope on audit.

    @coachemup
, Thanks for the heads up on Wiley. Updated mine a couple days ago and only shows 7 SIMS and 33 written communications.

Anyone help me with this EUP question.

EUP-equivalent units of production is the bane of BEC…..

A department adds material at the beginning of a process and identifies defective units when the process is 40% complete. At the beginning of the period, there was no work in process. At the end of the period, the number of work-in-process units equaled the number of units transferred to finished goods. If all units in ending work in process were 66% complete, then ending work in process should be allocated

A 50% of the material costs and 40% of the conversion costs of all normal defective unit costs.
B 40% of all normal defective unit costs.
C 50% of all normal defective unit costs.
    This answer is correct.
Inspection occurs when the units are 40% complete. Thus, EWIP, which is 66% complete, contains good units only. Because normal spoilage attaches to good units, and the units transferred to finished goods equal those in EWIP, the normal defective unit costs should be allocated 50% to EWIP and 50% to finished goods.
D None of the normal defective unit costs.

What's the answer talking about? where did the 50% come out of?

Through review #1 of all the material today. Will be done with all the questions in Wiley by this weekend and will be moving on to NINJA MCQ's.
I'm a bit annoyed by how lengthy the Part 5 Operations Management questions are in Wiley. I've never seen a MCQ CPA question yet, even in FAR, that required reading 4 paragraphs and doing 3 minutes worth of calculations. While I get a lot of it is good practice, maybe this just shows how ready I am to be done with this test.

REG was still the worst to study for, but I might rank BEC #2 in my least favorite to study.

Hi, this might be a stupid question, but, I really need some help here…
How do you select the simulation questions from Ninja? I am using Becker and Ninja at the same time, I normally do Becker first then Ninja, but, when I want to do simulation in Ninja, I don't know how to select the topic I want to work on. Example, if I want to practice COSO, how can I chose specific COSO simulation from Ninja?
or should I start work on Ninja simulation questions after I finish entire study?

    Thank you for help

@kloss Go to dashboard, top left “Custom + SIMS”, then Simulations. Note there are no SIMS for BEC, just WC's.

    BEC – 71, 70, 68, 66 (retake on 12/9)
    AUD – 83 (expire on 3/31/18)
    REG – 85
    FAR – 68, 70, (retook: result on 12/19)

I really have a difficult time to study BEC. Currently, I am using Becker and the average score I got from practice were around 85 and I still couldn't pass my BEC. The more practices I do, I feel like I am memorizing the answers, but couldn't really understand them. As you can see my BEC scores are getting worse. Does anyone have any good suggestion for studying BEC?

@FutureCPA when I studied for BEC using Becker I work each problem out like it was my 1st time even if I knew the answer. I also combined it with the ninja Scout which I feel was helpful. I get my results back in December so I hope I passed.
