    I'm comfortable in computation and economics. My weakness is IT, how to prepare on this?

    What's up guys!

    Need some advice. I took BEC twice this year in Mar and May scoring a 70 and 74, respectively. Will be taking it this month again and all I usually use is Becker. Any suggestions on what else I should use to finally push me over the hump?

    I'd also like to add I received “comparable” in the MCQs, “weaker” in the SIMS and “stronger” in the WC so I must have really bombed the SIMS when I got that 74 even though I felt I did well on them and completely made up a response for the WC

    @kev, can share me the secret on how you score strong in WC. How you structure your memo? How many paragraphs did you use on average, how you conclude it? Thanks.

    @fblessed777 I really just followed the instructions that Becker provided, which was always answer the question the exam is asking. This may sound obviously but I always structure it like this:

    “This memo (or email) is being written to discuss “””””” (implementing the question asked)

    Then I split the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs with explaining the answer I believe is right

    My conclusion always states “do not hestitate if you have any additional questions that's you would like me to address”

    Becker stated that the subtance of the answer doesn't really matter it's all about if you addressed the issue at hand.

    Let me know if this helps.

    current assets + fixed assets = current liabilities + long term liabilities + equity
    (current assets – current liabilities) + fixed assets = long term liabilities + equity
    net working capital ( including cash ) + fixed assets = long term liabilities + equity
    2500 + cash + 2200 = 1900+9000
    cash = 1900+9000-2200-2500
    cash = 6200

    @Kev. Thanks a lot. By the way, did you use the same structure for all of your WCs?

    @fblessed777 yes I use the same exact format every time just a different tone depending on who it is addressed to.

    Hi Kev,

    I also use Becker. Not sure, you used for your studying the Skills Practice simulations Becker provides.

    My instructor, who is extremely tough, always says this when one fails with 70+, ” You missed 30 points, not just couple. Go and reread the book, redo all questions, work on your shortcomings”. You were close to pass, however, my recommendation is to study from the beginning. I believe in repetition (with understanding) and building as much confidence as possible for the exam day.

    Speaking about the WC… English is my second language and I truly give you a huge applause for your performance at the end of BEC. On my final review for BEC, a native speaker told me, don't worry about the WC, I am not able to write “A cat is black, I am that tired”. What do you mean by a different tone?

    Thanks and good luck!

    @rencpa I have my exam scheduled got Oct 21st so I'll definitely be reviewing majority of the book! Thank you for that!!

    In terms of the tone, what I mean is the way you would write an email or memo to a CFO and co worker at your level is different. With a CFO you would try to be much more formal and use more “complex” terms that he/she would understand. If that makes sense.

    Does anyone know if BEC actual exam is math intensive? I am totally sucking at the calculations. I am totally missing the concept here….Please help!
    What should I do to understand things? I am doing Working Capital management right now and I feel like it is over my head.
