@ KeithPC16: I also got a 74 on BEC a few months ago. Depressing. I retook the exam yesterday. In my last week, I read the Wiley Focus notes twice and hit the Wiley Test Bank practice questions over and over. You have to force yourself to do the areas that are most difficult for you. Do those areas 3 times each if you can.

    1. what is the best way to memorize COSO? how deep should we go?

    2. I did not prepare for CH6. Is it a problem?

    3. for the last day, what should I focus?

    Thanks,

Know your COSO, in and out.

You may, depends on the test. I'd look into the formulas, just in case.

    COSO, IT, cost accounting.

It's all a guess since each test is randomized.

For the above problem.. You take the std allowed x std rate.

The std rate can be figured out from the budgeted results. Then for the applied you will look at the ACTUAL AMOUNT PRODUCED (8000) x THE STD ALLOWED per unit (.03). So it would be the (8000 x.03) x 38.

Also, you can use a bit of common sense here. They are asking for a volume variance, for those with becker 3 v 4. They give you the value for 3. 4 is above; but if you're hung up on how to get the number, ask yourself … if you took (8000 x 200 labor hours total) x 38… that number will just NOT make sense for the problem.

Thank you so much for your advices! I just came back from library…

Although I do not think I prepared well, for now, the good thing is that I still have one more day.

I am going to go over IT COSO and CH6 and all calculation formula tomorrow. : ))
