Look at it this way,

Actual FOH= 540,000

Budgeted FOH= Std FOH/unit * std units = 20*25000 = 500,000 (It tells you they budgeted to make a “standard of 25,000 units at 20 per unit)

Difference is 540,000 – 500,000= 40,000

However, based on Becker's instructions I would come up with the same thing as you. I just ignore it when it comes to FOH and only use the book on DM/DL/ and VOH variances.

I have been able to complete about 20 questions in about 2 hours working on chapter 2. I took the BEC exam and passed about 2 years ago but I lost my credit and I lost my knowledge as well. I really, really, really want to understand the concepts because I realize the exam can ask these questions in so many different ways. I am having such a hard time getting this info into my brain. I hope if I keep working the MCQs that eventually the light will come on and I will understand but it is very frustrating up until that point. Oh, well back to the books for more frustration!! Ha Ha

I still struggle a tiny bit with variances, but I don't sweat it. Most of the other items will be easier to become familiar with by exam day. I still have 2 1/2 weeks of studying.

I started the nonstop MCQs this week. I started with the first 5 chapters (out of 20) and completely bombed. I feel so burnt out, this is my last section and I so want to be done. BEC is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. My test is in two weeks and I am losing confidence and motivation. Ok pity party over, back to MCQs.
