I understand you wanting for this to be behind you. I am with you on that. I work and wish I did not need to so that I could focus on the exam more, but we all want what we do not have. You are right BEC is not easy! I have not found that any of the CPA exam were easy. But, they tell us it will all be worth it in the end.

We have to try to keep our eye on the goal of passing these exams. Sometimes I can get very discouraged but then I read a post from another candidate and I am inspired to keep going. My advice to you is to set realistic goals. If you are not ready for the BEC exam then reschedule and keep studying. Someday when all of this is behind us we will be so happy that we struggled through.

@stokey….u r right…i need to focus….it's just 1 month that i have to study really hard…. u r also right on having a realistic goal…i am planning to push my BEC date further….but still want to wait a bit…so i will complete my chapters once thinking i have to give on 10th….thanks a lot….

today, the plan is to finish ch 4 MCQ….atleast they r not very time consuming and notes can be made as i go……what's ur plan for today….

My plan today is to get up an hour before work to study, which I did, and now I am at the library for two hours. I am now working on MCQs starting with B-1.

I have a hard time with have a hard time with COSO internal control framework and Enterprise Risk Management. It is not black and white therefore I think more than one answer could be right. How did you master this subject? I have memorized the mnemonic but the activities performed and fall under information and communication or monitoring (for example). I keep writing a flashcard or “nugget” when I get a question wrong. Usually I try to make sure I understand the answer but on these types of questions I feel more than one answer is correct. I will post a question to everyone to show you what I mean.

I would choose B. For two reasons, because it says in the question that they're trying to link mission with strategic objectives. Also, this is touching on COSO Control Environment ideas. I don't believe that an ethics hotline or training is required by SEC, NYSE or Dodds/Frank so I would eliminate answer D based on that. It would seem that an operations objective wouldn't be ethics based, so eliminate answer A.

Explanation: Establishment of an ethics hotline and related corporate training would most likely be a related compliance objective. Ethics training is sometimes referred to as corporate compliance training. Operational implementation of this character is generally a related objective rather than a strategic objective.

What I associated with compliance is adhering to rules, laws and regulations. I would not have associated compliance with the establishment of a business hotline. It makes it sound as if it is a requirement.

This area is way too subjective for me. I made a flashcard to help me remember it though.
