to answer your second questions,
…..If the dollar price of the euro rises, which of the following will occur?…
1 euro = $2.00 dollars
1 euro = $3.00 dollars
thus the $dollar price of the euro rose (from $2 to $3) which weakens the dollar.
When I read that problem, i realized that sometimes, the problems are written to ruin our careers lol, i guess this one didn't make the cut and for that reason it is now a released question.
In anyway, it may help when you look it it this way.
Good luck.

Thomas_Member@mary28.. I'm gonna take a stab at this question.
Cash in…………….$150,000
Less: tax……………(45,000)
= net……………….$105,000
Depreciation………..15,000 (600,000/12*30%)
After tax cash flow……………..$120,000
Depreciation is considered a non-cash expense because there is no cash involved in recording it. Because it is an expense, it is subtracted which in turn creates a smaller taxable income. Because taxable income is smaller, it reduces the related cash outflows for income taxes. Depreciation, therefore, creates a tax savings, for that reason that tax effect is added back. so $600,000/12 year usefull life x 30% tax rate = $15,000 in tax savings. Since we are dealing with “cash flows”, a tax savings is extra cash that wasn't paid and thus added in.
Hope this helps?

Thomas_MemberBest of luck. I'm about 40 days away. Hoping this will be my last exam if I passed AUD. The waiting continues…
Focus on your weak areas and review the strong areas for memory purposes. I would suggest rank the areas from weak to strong and start from those weak topics first moving your way to the stong topics.

joch0803MemberHello Again everyone!
So took BEC back this summer….after a brutal 74 I met my first defeat : ( Well since then I have moved across state lines, started a new job, and rescheduled my retake twice. I just couldn't get back into the grove of studying, I just didn't care!!!
I've read many times people talking about getting angry at the test, well I finally know how they feel. I pushed my test back to Nov. 11th ( I suppose to take it this Saturday, but knew I wasn't ready). I woke up yesterday just Peeped off!!!!! I am SICK of Studying, I am sick of feeling guilty when I'm not studying, and I am sick of putting off starting a social life for this exam!!!!
I am ready to kick this tests behind!!!! I am going to live and breath BEC until November 11th, because after that date I'm never going to study for this stupid exam again!!!
Let's do this guys!!!!!!!!!!

AmayMember@joch! I can't say I haven't been there..good for you for finally realizing you were wasting time. KILL IT!!!! 🙂
BEC: 73, 81
AUD: 85
FAR: 71, 77
REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂
