I am half way through the Wiley book and half way through the WTB. I also decided to buy the Becker course so I can study BEC® with it, as I know I need more help with REG.

BEC is killing me! There are all these concepts I don't remember. I have never taken a finance class and didn't pay enough attention in my managerial accounting courses, apparently!!! I get Economics, Corporate Governance (kinda), and IT is okay, but financial management, not so much…

I do notice a significant overlap of questions with Wiley and Becker. Sometimes Wiley will truncate the questions, but it's like getting deja vu as I do more and more questions…

    @Jennifer241, Happy early birthday!

    AUD - 7/5/13 - 93
    FAR - 8/24/13 - 91
    BEC - 11/30/13 - 92
    REG - 2/24/14 - 91! DONE!

CPAreviewforFREE, Wiley Test Bank, Becker, and NINJA FLASHCARDS. <3

Becker has two paragraphs on Cash Disbursements and Cash available in the study book and none of it is using math. When I get to the B2 problems there are so many problems on it with math!! Does anyone know how likely it is to get one of these problems???

@Mary28 Nobody knows how likely it is to get one of these problems. Becker does this quite frequently. You must use the passmaster questions as an additional learning tool, because a lot of the concepts and calculations that are questioned are often not mentioned or only briefly covered in the textbook.

These valuation formulas in B6 are not my friends right now. How did you guys do with those?

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! πŸ˜€

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently πŸ™‚

I don't have Becker so not sure which are in B-6, but what I do is this:

For the profitability, asset, debt and market ratios – I wrote them all down on 2 sheets of paper and read them everyday! They are taped to the wall next to my study area; while my computer is booting up I read them, takes 4 minutes for me.

For Cost accounting formulas, I wrote out my version of it (not an actually problem) and I write them each day on scratch paper. I try to write them from memory, but most times I have to peak at my sheets. (Still working on this area)

For PUREDADS Variances I wrote it out on a dry-erase board, I read it each day

For those long weird formula's I put analogies with them, like for EVA=NOPAT-[(TA-CL)xWACC)] -> Eva(my cousin) is not Pat(my neighbor) she has BIG T and A$$(seriously EE's! and a rump to go with it), anytime you have total assets you take away CL, and then you multiply EVA with the big T's and A$$ and you get one WACC'd up girl! I know it's horribly mean, but it helps me to remember this truly crazy formula!

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

Licensed CPA in the state of Oregon

After reading that over I have come to terms with the fact I will probably go to hell for that analogy…
