I thought I would share this with you. I got an email from Gleim about BEC last night.
BEC Update
Hello again, CPA candidates. We are currently in the process of updating our CPA materials for the 2014 exam. As we always are this time of year, we are appreciative of all our customers who submitted comments and suggestions regarding the current edition. Our 2014 materials will reflect much of the feedback we received in 2013.
You may have noticed from the pass rates charts that BEC pass rates have recently been increasing.
While the pass rates on the other sections remain between 45% and 50%, the pass rate for BEC has been above 50% since 2012, when it increased by almost 13% in just one year. The AICPA's Board of Examiners has launched an inquiry into this anomaly. Based on their findings, we may see an increase in difficulty in the BEC section a few years down the road to realign BEC scores with the AICPA's expectations. What does this mean for you, the candidates?
It's simple: Take BEC sooner rather than later!
But don't panic – we do not expect anything regarding this issue to immediately impact the exam.
