AnonymousInactiveHi Everyone, After purchasing Becker in January 2013, I am finally ready to study. I decided to go with BEC and I an scheduled for October 24th, meaning I only have 4 weeks to study. I am starting today and will try to study 5hours/day while working full-tine as a staff Accountant. Should I just watch the lecture then homework, or do I need to read the book? Any suggestions is welcomed as it is my first time using Becker. Thanks

neika822ParticipantSorry @Amay. I haven't this looked at this board for a bit. – I was really slow with FAR. Took me about 2.5 months. I was losing motivation then, too.
I'm trying to really crank up my BEC studying. I'm on lecture 4 now, and only did a small percentage of chapter 2 and 3 MCQ's. I'm going to try to catch up on those throughout the week/weekend. My new strategy is lecture one night, notes one night, homework one night. Whatever I don't get done gets pushed to the weekend for catch-up. It's actually keeping me moving along/motivated.
Lecture 4 is ‘shorter,' so I'm going to finish that tonight and then devote the rest of the night to some MCQ catch-up.
R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINADONE, DONE, AND DONE.

AmayMember@dark No need to read the book if you are doing the lecture and taking notes. Good luck!
BEC: 73, 81
AUD: 85
FAR: 71, 77
REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! π*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently π

AmayMember@zxiao I don't really go into much detail in the parts Becker doesn't cover in the lecture. Most of the time I don't go back to read those parts at all. Because it's so much info, I just try to focus on the most important topics they cover and in making sure I understand the concepts in the MCQs. You do not need to know every single question to pass! If you can't figure something out I would say to do the following:
1)Look up topic in book/online
2)Ask your fellow NINJAs for help
3)If you still don't get it, move on!
Remember, they cannot possibly test you on everything. It is OK if you don't get a few questions here and there.
