gudduMemberI don't understand where u r getting confused. I think you are right when you are saying, inflation causes $ value to decrease.
Increased demand will cause increase inflation which will decrease the dollar value which means our exports will increase and imports will decrease.

AnonymousInactiveI'm confused because in times of inflation that means price is up. If price is up, that causes less exports because other countries can't afford to purchase our goods because they are expensive. it means imports are up because we can afford to buy more foreign goods and foreign countries have an advantage in the US at that time because their items are cheaper.
But like you just said, it also means buying power has decreased, value of the currency has gone down, value of foreign currency has gone up. That means more exports and less imports.
They contradict each other.

gudduMember@clittlefield, I don't think in case of inflation, exports will be less and imports will be high.
High inflation means your currency will weaken…. Since your currency is weaker your imports will decrease and your exports will increase would be your basic econ. So I don't understand how you get the first conclusion.

AnonymousInactiveThat may be what I am messing up on. During the video I understood them to say that when aggregate demand increases, price increases. Therefore, products become more expensive and exports go down because the products are expensive and other countries don't purchase as much.
Then I understood that this is also an indication of inflation and during times of inflation purchasing power declines. Which depreciates the value of the dollar and increases exports because our dollar is weaker.

stokey45Participant@ Qlad,
I understand it is very easy to get down! I have been there and still do that!! But, keep your chin up! You still have two days! Two very important days for reviewing. I am not sure what review material you are using but I can tell you from my experience that if you are using Becker you may be okay, I usually score lower with Becker than I do on the actual exam. I know just from reading your posts that you have been working very hard for this and know that you WILL overcome these exams. Not that this helps, but I have been working on the exams for 4 years! If I pass BEC I will have taken each exam 3 times. But you know what? I will have done it and so will you!
Keep reviewing and try to learn from your mistakes, trying to see why the correct answer is right! Remember two days is still two days! Those two days may make the difference between a 74 and a 75!
I am testing on Wednesday! I have been to the doctors twice now battling bronchitis. Unexpected time away from my studies but I still have today and tomorrow and I am going to give it all I can! You can too! If you are scoring between 70-75 then you are REALLY close. Don't get discouraged now!! Good Luck
