This wait is ridiculous! Anyone take the new exam yet? I took the exam 3-4 weeks ago and honestly I felt like I did way better than the first time. The sims were great. Straight forward, clear, and not as vague or difficult as the sims on the other sections. It's great that I no longer need to study while I wait, but some days I have a mini panic attack thinking I may have a failing score out there. If I have to retake after the August score release, it won't be till after Oct 15th busy season and by then I won't remember anything.

@KennethKang Yeah the videos are to boring to watch. I'm just doing MCQS from Wiley and Ninja and studying ninja Index cards.

The wait is the WORST! I took AUD on 5/1 and have to wait until August to get my score back. So instead of waiting around and letting the clock tick I decided to move on to BEC (8/14) and if I happen to fail AUD it gives me a solid month to re-study before baby number #2 and our busy time starts in October! Stressful to say the least.

    Hi All,
I am planning to take the BEC exam on July 8th and I am feeling a bit drained. I tried to take this exam in Q1 before all the changes and did not pass. This is my second time going through all the material, but I am not sure I have gained any ground. I am using RogerCPA review, and I like his materials, I just dont feel like I have really learned anything. I keep dreaming about what it will be like to actually be a CPA, but starting to wonder if its in my cards. :/ I only have a few hours to study a day and need to make sure that these hours are effective. Not sure if my soul can endure a 2nd failure in a row.

Any study tips that you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone using Becker? I'm struggling through the Working Capital Management Part 2 (Module 5). The book and lectures doesn't seem to help with the MCQs that they ask. How are you working this module? How can I improve in this section?

@ninster I am having the same issue, i dont get how the questions they ask has anything to do with the material covered in BEC – 2.5 but i guess i am not the only one.

Hi all — I'm in California and studying for BEC while I wait for my (probably failing) REG score on August 17.

I needed to reapply, and my application has been processed. However, my accounting board's site says the following when I try to schedule my test:

Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) – (Note: Currently Blocked – Open ATT)

Has anyone seen this before? Any tips on what I need to do?

Thanks and good luck to you all on your studies.

The CPA process is such a nightmare….

    FAR - 6/4/16 - 82
    AUD - 8/27/16
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD

Has anyone have better method to solve this question:

    Becker B2 Module 5:

Newman products has received proposal from several banks to establish lock box system to speed up receipts. Newman receives an average of 700 checks per day averaging $1800, and its cost of short term funds is 7% per year. Assuming that all proposals will produce equivalent processing results and using a 360-day year, which one of the following proposals is optimal for Newman?

    A compensating balance of $1,750,000
    b. A fee of $0.35 per check plus 0.01 percent of the amount collected
    c. A fee of 0.03% of the amount collected
d A flat fee of $125,000 per year.

    The correct answer is A.

Please someone help me solve this question. The solution given Becker is very confusing to understand.

    Good afternoon everyone!

I'm scheduled to take my first CPA exam (BEC) on July 27 and I've never been so nervous in my life. My worst fear is failing and re-taking this exam if not once, maybe twice (or even more…). I'm trying to knock out as many exams as I can before I start working full-time and I wanted some input from people who have already taken a section of the CPA exam. I purchased Becker and listen to the lecture, then I go back and take my own notes which takes me FOREVER. I don't even know if it's helpful but if I feel like I learn better when I write it down. After that, I try to take the practice MCQ's they have after every section (which usually ends up with me closing out of my browser since I don't do that well). My main problem is that I don't feel as though I'm learning anything. The closer we get to my exam date, the worse I feel because I feel like I'm wasting my time with my method.

Also, I've worked on chapters 1 & 2 and couldn't stand to do another day of chapter 2 so I just moved on to chapter 3. Any and all help is much appreciated, thanks!

@Ty I take BEC 7/6, and I started studying 6/5. I definitely took a few days completely off too. I am like you in the fact that I seemingly can only truly learn by writing. It is incredibly time consuming, especially for FAR. However, I think it did help me. Doing the MCQ over and over helps solidify the concepts too. B1, B5, and B6 have essentially no math. B2-B4 are math-riddled. I found, as well as friends, B2 to be the worst. It's a section you just have to push through. It gets better with MCQ practice.

For the first week I just did the lectures, then MCQ, then flashcards. Repeat for each module in each section. Then I did the skills practices and progress tests for a few days. In week 3, I redid all the MCQ by section and the TBS/written communications for them. I made sure to take progress tests when I could. Week 4 I took mock 1. I took mock 2 a couple days ago. In between and since then, I've been redoing MCQ, taking progress tests, writing why I got MCQ wrong, reviewing weak section skills practices, and retaking notes on all sections. My hand is definitely cramping at this point, but if it gets me a 75, it'll be worth it.

Lastly, have faith!! I thought I'd never be able to score well on some of these sections, but my last 4 progress test scores have been 90, 90, 85, 90.

@nola-girl5 Thank you! It's helpful knowing that I'm not the only one and I completely agree that if it gets me a 75, the hand cramps are well worth it! Can you please explain how you went through everything in a month? Since there are 6 chapters for BEC I figured I would go a Chapter a week and then add on top of that another week of review. So a total of 7-8 weeks just for BEC. Should I be studying 2 or 3 chapters a week, and leave about a week of review? I'm trying to be as efficient as possible for the next few weeks and if that means giving up some of my free-time to play catch up and study a couple more hours during the week to do so, I don't mind doing so.

Also, with those progress test scores it looks like you're going to do very well on your exam! I wish you the best of luck!!!
