Thanks @summer. I have not been doing enough MCQs only because I get so demoralized for not remembering the material.

I will work on doing a lot more for one specific topic before jumping around.

It just sucks because I know on the real exam not all the topics will be covered. I just don't know what to focus on and what people believe to be the most important.

    You're welcome!

@aimhigher I know what you mean. I always go through this sad phase when I begin final review. I typically suck at the beginning and it makes me very upset. I've yet to study for a section and NOT cry at some point during it. You sometimes feel inadequate but you need to use that feeling as motivation to improve. You're not going to get better by not studying and learning.

Ugh…is it just me or does BEC seem to be a lot more calculation heavy than anticipated? So many formulas and problems to work through. I feel like I am back in FAR! Has anyone on here taken BEC before, and if so, does it seem to be as heavy on calculations as it seems? I know every exam is different but I always thought BEC was more conceptual in nature. These calculation questions are killing me!

Summer, I'm in the same shoes. But i remember in chapter one Peter was saying math not as important as understanding the concept, but Im not sure if he was talking about chapter 1 only. Also the becker book doesn't cover the math and some concepts in MCQs.

I don't think its as calculation intensive as studying, the problem is not knowing which of all those millions of formulas you will get, so unfortunately we have to memorize everything 🙁

I think I remember seeing a post awhile back that said almost 50% of his/her MC was calculations. I take my exam tomorrow but I think I am just going to stick with memorizing the big ones (ROI, turnovers, WACC, APR). I just took FAR a couple weeks ago, so some of those are still in my brain, and hopefully those will get me to a 75!

I know the type of questions you get can be random, so it is important to study everything. It just gets so labor intensive sometimes. I've only done like 400 MCQs and every time I see a calc question, I get queasy lol.

Good luck tomorrow, @baileyshea! I am sure you'll do great. You're a beast to do all of these exams within a 2 month time period. Keep us posted on how it goes 🙂

thank you @summer! I definitely underestimated how hard it is to study 40+ hours per week compared to working that much, but I am trying to get as many out of the way as possible before I start work. I will let you all know how I feel after tomorrow! 🙂

Do we use the AL at all in BEC Sims? And what kind of SIMS should we expect?

Just got back from the testing center! Without disclosing anything, I think my test was very spread out in terms of concepts and definitely fell into the ranges on the blueprint! (side note: BEC blueprint is super manageable compared to FAR for example, so it's a good way to check and make sure you're not forgetting any major concepts) I was pretty nervous when I heard others say that theirs were disproportionately IT heavy. My first and second testlets seemed to be about the same level of difficulty, so that's not the best sign but I think I did well on the TBS and WC. I had more than enough time with 1-1.5 minutes per MC and 20 minutes per TBS/WC. The AL is available for the sims but I didn't use it, it wouldn't have helped me. I would highly recommend doing the AICPA practice exam as someone else said!!! Also, the list of formulas that is in the practice exam is the same list in the TBS. If I don't pass, I think it will be because of the multiple choice. The questions and answers were worded very confusingly. For example, when you read the question in your head and know the answer, then go to look for the answer, the answer was not there for me and some obscure information would be. I'm a very decisive test taker so it was hard for me to be stuck between two “half-right” (in my opinion) answers. Sorry if that was TMI! hope something helps! good luck everyone!

Thank you for the information, definitely helps! I have BEC scheduled for September 10th and it's my first part. What did you use to study?

Bec tbs gives you the formulas?
